2026 Toyota Tundra Snowhunter Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Toyota Tundra Snowhunter Concept is one of five winter-focused Toyota prototypes developed for the 2026 SEMA Show.

  • White powder-coated snow tracks, bespoke camouflage, Rigid lighting and Toyota Genuine and TRD lift components give the full-size pickup a specialised winter configuration.

  • A CALTY-designed TrailLift Pro Rack System Concept, TRD rear billet control arms and Predator Step equipment distinguish the Tundra from other Snowhunter builds.

Toyota Tundra Snowhunter Concept Heads to SEMA 2026

Toyota has introduced the 2026 Toyota Tundra Snowhunter Concept, a modified full-size pickup developed to demonstrate how its existing truck platform could support remote winter exploration.

The project forms part of Toyota's five-vehicle Snowhunter collection for the 2026 SEMA Show, alongside modified versions of the Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser and Sequoia.

CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan, led the design programme, creating a shared appearance across the vehicles while giving each a different expedition configuration.

Winter Camouflage and Additional Lighting

The Tundra Snowhunter retains the pickup's full-size body proportions, with a series of exterior changes focused on winter use.

Bespoke Snowhunter camouflage covers the bodywork, accompanied by dedicated badging and gloss-black accents.

Rigid auxiliary lighting provides additional illumination for travel away from maintained roads.

The combination of the raised body, track assemblies and exterior accessories gives the Tundra a distinctly different appearance from a conventional road-going pickup.

White Snow Tracks and TRD Suspension Components

The most substantial modification is the replacement of conventional wheels with white powder-coated snow tracks.

Positioned beneath the front and rear wheel arches, the assemblies create a raised stance and extend the vehicle's contact area across snowy ground.

Toyota Genuine Parts and TRD lift components are part of the Snowhunter conversion.

The Tundra also receives TRD rear billet control arms.

TrailLift Pro Rack System and Cargo Access

The Tundra's distinguishing feature is its CALTY-designed Toyota TrailLift Pro Rack System Concept.

Mounted over the pickup bed, the system creates a configurable structure for carrying and organising expedition equipment.

Its articulating upper rack can be lowered to simplify loading larger items, including bicycles, kayaks and canoes.

The Tundra also features Predator Step equipment, supporting access around the raised pickup.

Unlike the Tacoma's full-length MOLLE bed rack, the TrailLift Pro arrangement concentrates on adjustable cargo management.

A Full Size Winter Expedition Prototype

Toyota positions the Tundra Snowhunter as a potential mobile basecamp for extended winter travel.

The combination of tracked running gear and configurable bed storage demonstrates a possible approach to carrying equipment into remote locations.

The vehicle remains a special project prototype rather than an announced production model.

Toyota cautions that some modifications may affect performance, safety and warranty coverage, and the vehicle may not be street legal.
