2026 Toyota Sequoia Snowhunter Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Toyota Sequoia Snowhunter Concept joins four other Toyota trucks and SUVs developed for the 2026 SEMA Show.

  • White powder-coated snow tracks, Snowhunter camouflage, Rigid lighting and Toyota Genuine and TRD lift components define the winter-focused conversion.

  • A TRD front skid plate, Toyota Genuine cast aluminium running boards, Prinsu roof rack and Thule Pulse 2 cargo box support its expedition configuration.

Toyota Sequoia Snowhunter Concept Heads to SEMA 2026

Toyota has revealed the 2026 Toyota Sequoia Snowhunter Concept, a modified full-size SUV developed to demonstrate how a body-on-frame vehicle could be equipped for deep-snow exploration.

The Sequoia is part of Toyota's five-vehicle Snowhunter collection prepared for the 2026 SEMA Show, joining the Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner and Land Cruiser.

CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan, led the design programme, establishing a common winter theme across the five prototypes.

Custom Snowhunter Camouflage and Rigid Lighting

The Sequoia Snowhunter retains its familiar SUV bodywork but receives a collection of exterior modifications intended for winter travel.

Bespoke Snowhunter camouflage covers the vehicle, accompanied by dedicated badging and gloss-black accents.

Rigid auxiliary lighting provides additional illumination for driving beyond maintained roads.

The modified exterior places greater emphasis on expedition equipment, while the Sequoia's large body remains the foundation of the design.

Toyota has applied a consistent visual treatment across the Snowhunter collection, although each vehicle carries different accessories.

Snow Tracks Transform the Sequoia's Stance

The most noticeable modification is the replacement of conventional wheels with white powder-coated snow track assemblies.

Positioned beneath the wheel arches, these tracks substantially alter the SUV's appearance and raise its body above the snow-covered surface.

Toyota Genuine Parts and TRD lift components support the winter-focused configuration.

The tracked arrangement is intended for conditions where conventional off-road tires may encounter difficulty.

TRD Skid Plate and Roof Cargo Equipment

The Sequoia Snowhunter receives a TRD front skid plate, adding protection beneath the front of the vehicle.

Toyota Genuine cast aluminium running boards are fitted along the sides.

Above the cabin, a Prinsu roof rack incorporates accessory panels, while a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box provides enclosed storage for additional equipment.

These accessories reflect the Sequoia's intended role in transporting passengers and equipment during extended winter journeys.

Unlike the Land Cruiser Snowhunter, which carries a dedicated ski rack, the Sequoia uses enclosed roof storage.

A Winter Expedition Prototype

The Sequoia Snowhunter demonstrates a possible approach to configuring a large SUV for remote winter travel.

It remains a special project prototype rather than an announced production variant.

Toyota cautions that some modifications may affect performance, safety and warranty coverage. The vehicle may not be street legal.
