2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Snowhunter Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Snowhunter Concept is one of five winter-focused Toyota prototypes developed for the 2026 SEMA Show.

  • White powder-coated snow tracks, TRD lift components, Rigid lighting and Snowhunter camouflage give the Land Cruiser a dedicated deep-snow configuration.

  • Toyota Genuine rock rails and skid plates join a Prinsu roof rack with accessory panels and a Thule SnowPack ski rack.

Toyota Land Cruiser Snowhunter Concept Joins SEMA Lineup

Toyota has introduced the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Snowhunter Concept, a modified version of its body-on-frame SUV developed to demonstrate a different approach to winter exploration.

The concept is part of a five-vehicle Snowhunter collection prepared for the 2026 SEMA Show, alongside similarly equipped Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner and Sequoia models.

CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan, led the design work, creating a common visual identity across the five vehicles.

Snowhunter Camouflage and Additional Lighting

The Land Cruiser Snowhunter retains the underlying SUV body design but receives a collection of dedicated exterior modifications.

Custom Snowhunter camouflage covers the bodywork, accompanied by matching badging and gloss-black accents.

Rigid auxiliary lighting forms part of the winter equipment package, providing additional illumination for travel beyond maintained roads.

The modifications give the Land Cruiser a more expedition-oriented appearance without replacing its familiar body-on-frame SUV layout.

White Snow Tracks and Raised Suspension

The Snowhunter's most noticeable change is the installation of white powder-coated snow tracks in place of conventional wheels.

These assemblies extend the vehicle's footprint across the snow and create a significantly different stance from a standard Land Cruiser.

Toyota Genuine Parts and TRD lift components support the modified configuration.

The raised body and tracked running gear are intended to illustrate how the SUV could be adapted for travelling through deep snow.

Rock Rails, Skid Plates and Ski Storage

The Land Cruiser receives Toyota Genuine rock rails and skid plates, adding protective equipment beneath and alongside the body.

A Prinsu roof rack incorporates accessory panels for carrying additional expedition gear.

Mounted above the cabin is a Thule SnowPack ski rack, reflecting the concept's emphasis on winter recreation.

This equipment differs from the 4Runner Snowhunter, which uses a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box, and the Tacoma, which carries a more extensive collection of recovery and camping accessories.

Winter Exploration Concept Rather Than Production Model

The Land Cruiser Snowhunter demonstrates how Toyota's existing SUV platform could support more specialised winter equipment.

It draws on the Land Cruiser's established off-road reputation, but the prototype has been configured primarily as a SEMA display vehicle.

Toyota cautions that some modifications may affect safety, performance and warranty coverage. The vehicle may also be unsuitable for public-road use.
