A More Confident Shape Takes Form

The 2026 Renault Clio E-Tech Techno enters its next chapter with a noticeably more athletic exterior. The new generation grows to 4,12 m in length and 1,77 m in width, changes that reshape its proportions and push it closer to the premium edge of the B-segment. The longer hood, widened front track (+39 mm), and lower roofline lend a stronger forward stance, while the heavily raked rear window introduces an almost coupé-like flow.

Renault’s designers place emphasis on sculpted surfaces, pronounced shoulder lines, and sharper detailing. The revised front end carries a taller, diamond-pattern grille framed by new day-running lamps inspired by the brand emblem. The rear lamps adopt a sportier signature, and wheel arch treatments—matte on lower trims, glossy on upper—reinforce the visual width. Seven exterior colors are available, including two new finishes: Rouge Absolu and Vert Absolu.

Cabin Updates Focus on Technology and Quality

Inside, the Clio E-Tech Techno continues its shift upward with a redesigned dashboard that integrates the new OpenR dual-screen layout. Depending on version, the car features a 10,1-inch central display paired with a digital instrument cluster of similar size. The system runs OpenR Link with Google integrated, providing native Google Maps, Google Assistant, Play Store access, and embedded connectivity without relying on smartphone mirroring.

Ambient lighting spans the passenger side and offers up to 48 color choices. Higher trims add Alcantara surfaces and titanium-tone highlights. Rear passengers benefit from improved knee space thanks to deeper front-seat sculpting, while the trunk measures up to 391 liters depending on powertrain. A lower loading sill—reduced by 40 mm—improves daily usability.

Hybrid Powertrain Gains Strength and Efficiency

Renault’s updated E-Tech 160 hybrid powertrain becomes the centerpiece of the Techno version. The new configuration combines a multimode clutchless gearbox, two electric motors, and a 1,8-liter gasoline engine. With the help of a larger 1.4 kWh battery and updated control logic that offers 15 operating modes for more seamless transitions, output increases to 160 horsepower. The 0–100 km/h run takes 8.3 seconds, demonstrating an improvement in performance.

Efficiency remains a highlight: combined consumption starts at 3,9 L/100 km, and CO₂ emissions drop to 89 g/km. Renault notes the Clio can operate in electric mode up to 80% of the time in urban use, giving it an edge over conventional compact hatchbacks.

New Assistance Systems and Chassis Refinements

Up to 29 driver-assistance systems are available, including updated Active Driver Assist with adaptive cruise control and intelligent speed adaptation. A new emergency stop support function can slow the vehicle to a halt if the driver becomes unresponsive. Parking systems now use high-definition cameras, and a driver-monitoring camera is mounted in the A-pillar.

Chassis tuning improves with wider tracks, recalibrated dampers, and better anti-roll settings. Aerodynamic improvements that reduce drag from 0.32 to 0.30 include redesigned mirrors, underbody shaping, and a movable front air flap. Upgraded mirror housings and more insulation improve cabin noise isolation.
