A Special GT3 Marks A Milestone For Porsche In Britain

Porsche has unveiled one of its most distinctive UK-focused special editions in recent memory. Called the 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition, the limited-run model celebrates 75 years since the first Porsche arrived in Great Britain and appeared at the Earls Court Motor Show in London.

Only 51 examples will be built, a number chosen to reflect the year 1951 when British enthusiasts first saw Porsche cars on home soil. The car will make its public debut during the Icons of Porsche Sunstede Silverstone Edition event, where Porsche Cars GB is marking the anniversary with owners, collectors and fans from across the country.

Styling Drawn From The Earliest Porsche Cars

The inspiration comes directly from the Porsche 356 coupes displayed at Earls Court 75 years ago. Rather than creating something loud or heavily decorated, Porsche chose a more thoughtful approach.

The body is finished in a newly developed Paint to Sample Plus colour called Earls Court Green metallic. Depending on the light, the paint shifts subtly in character thanks to metallic elements embedded in the finish. It recalls one of the original 356 display cars while also nodding to the deep connection between British racing culture and shades of green traditionally associated with motorsport.

Brilliant Silver accents appear on the bonnet stripe, mirrors and various exterior details. Special badging on the rear grille references Reutter, the company that produced Porsche 356 bodies during the model's early years.

Heritage Influences Continue Inside

The cabin may be where the project tells its story most effectively.

Night Green and Chalk Beige leather create a period-inspired colour palette without feeling nostalgic for nostalgia’s sake. Corduroy seat inserts and door panels draw directly from materials associated with early Porsche models, while Paldao wood trim stretches across the dashboard, centre console and doors.

There are numerous details that owners will likely discover over time. The headrests feature an Earls Court logo, the sun visors carry embossed Union Jack motifs, and the driver's side dashboard panel displays a silhouette of a 356 alongside the phrase “driving in its purest form.” Even the manual gear selector receives a wood finish inspired by classic Porsche design cues.

Naturally Aspirated Power Remains Central

Underneath the bespoke detailing sits one of Porsche's most celebrated modern sports cars.

The Earls Court 51 Edition is based on the 911 GT3 Touring and retains its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine producing 510 PS. Buyers can choose either a six-speed manual transmission or a PDK gearbox. With the manual fitted, the car reaches 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and can continue to a top speed of 194 mph.

That focus on driver involvement was a key requirement for the project team, which viewed the manual gearbox as an important link between modern Porsche sports cars and the original 356 that helped establish the brand in Britain decades ago.

More Than A Collectible

The 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition isn't simply another numbered special edition. It acts as a rolling tribute to Porsche's earliest chapter in the UK, connecting a modern GT3 Touring with the cars that first introduced the marque to British roads.

For collectors and enthusiasts alike, it represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of Porsche Cars GB history, wrapped in one of the most carefully considered heritage projects the company has created.
