The 2026 Morgan Supersport opens a fresh chapter for the British manufacturer. It replaces the previous flagship with a car that still looks unmistakably like a Morgan, yet introduces meaningful changes beneath its familiar silhouette. The company describes it as an evolution rather than a clean-sheet reinvention, combining traditional coachbuilding with modern engineering and greater day-to-day usability.
That philosophy runs throughout the car. Morgan has focused as much on improving the driving experience and practicality as it has on refining the design.
Classic Shape With A Cleaner Approach
At first glance, the Supersport could only be a Morgan. The long bonnet, separate flowing wings and compact cockpit remain, but the details have been carefully reworked.
The front receives a cleaner horseshoe cowl with integrated LED headlights, while a new splitter and revised overriders modernize the appearance without abandoning the company's heritage. Along the side, a raised shoulder line and smoother body surfacing create a more contemporary profile. Around the back, the sweeping tail is matched with a new diffuser, integrated lighting, and twin exhaust outlets that sit neatly beneath the bodywork.
Supersport also introduces an interchangeable roof system. Owners can choose between a lightweight carbon composite hardtop or a folding mohair soft top, giving the car two distinct personalities depending on the journey.
More Practical Than Previous Morgans
Morgan has added features that buyers are likely to notice every time they use the car.
For the first time in more than a decade, a new rear boot provides space for luggage or the removable side screens. Inside, redesigned door panels feature wood trim inspired by mid-century audio equipment, while analogue style instruments continue Morgan's traditional approach despite using modern electronic architecture behind the scenes.
Technology is present but kept discreet. Wireless phone charging, Bluetooth hands-free calling, and an upgraded Sennheiser audio system have been integrated without changing the cabin's analogue character.
Familiar BMW Power With A New Chassis
Power comes from BMW's familiar 3.0 litre TwinPower Turbo inline six, producing 335 bhp through an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. The headline changes, however, are found underneath.
A new CXV aluminium platform increases torsional rigidity while reducing weight, working alongside revised steering and suspension geometry to improve body control and steering response. Buyers looking for a sharper setup can also specify the Dynamic Handling Pack with adjustable Nitron dampers and an optional limited slip differential. Lightweight 18 inch or optional 19 inch alloy wheels further reduce unsprung mass.
A Morgan Built For The Road Ahead
The Supersport is also a showcase for Morgan's "21st Century Coachbuilding" philosophy. Each aluminium body is still hand formed over an ash wood frame before being combined with modern chassis technology, electronic systems, and sustainable material choices including recycled aluminium. Every example is built to order, with extensive options allowing owners to create an individual specification.
Rather than changing what makes a Morgan special, the 2026 Morgan Supersport refines it. It remains an analogue sports car at heart, but one that is easier to live with, more capable on the road, and better suited to modern driving expectations.
