2026 Morgan Supersport 400
By Lorenzo Bianchi July 20, 2026
The 2026 Morgan Supersport 400 is the most powerful production Morgan ever, producing 402 bhp from a BMW sourced turbocharged inline six.
Standard Dynamic Handling Pack, forged 19 inch wheels, and a revised suspension sharpen the driving experience.
New Alcantara interior options, bespoke detailing, and expanded personalization underline its flagship status.
The 2026 Morgan Supersport 400 arrives as the fastest and most powerful production car the British company has ever built. It pushes beyond the 400 bhp mark for the first time, but Morgan's approach has not changed overnight. The emphasis is still on lightweight construction, driver involvement, and craftsmanship rather than chasing headline numbers alone.
Built on the CXV aluminium platform introduced with the Supersport, the new flagship is intended to extract more from an already capable foundation. Morgan also describes it as the beginning of a broader program of bespoke and limited production models that will expand the company's lineup over the coming months.
Familiar Shape With Sharper Details
At first glance, the Supersport 400 looks unmistakably like a Morgan. The long bonnet, compact cabin, and flowing bodywork remain intact. A closer look reveals several subtle revisions aimed at separating it from the standard model.
New front wing vents improve airflow while giving the car a more purposeful appearance. Gloss finished lower bodywork replaces the satin treatment used previously, and forged 19 inch Sportlite alloy wheels help reduce unsprung weight while giving the car a slightly more assertive stance. Buyers can also specify new satin paint finishes and optional coral accents for a more individual look.
A Driver Focused Cabin
Morgan has refreshed the interior without moving away from its traditional character. Full leather remains standard, while new Alcantara trim options introduce a sportier atmosphere. The steering wheel is also wrapped in Alcantara, reinforcing the connection between driver and machine.
Elsewhere, bespoke stitching runs across the seats, doors, and transmission tunnel, while newly designed analogue style instruments retain classic looks despite using modern electronic architecture. An optional aluminium gear selector makes its debut on the CX generation platform, adding another tactile element to the cockpit.
BMW Power Meets Lightweight Engineering
Power comes from BMW's latest 3.0 litre B58 turbocharged inline six, paired with an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. Output reaches 402 bhp and 500 Nm, making the Supersport 400 the first production Morgan to exceed the 400 bhp threshold.
The Dynamic Handling Pack is now standard, bringing adjustable Nitron dampers, revised suspension geometry, and an optional limited slip differential. Morgan has also developed a dedicated Active Performance Exhaust to give the straight six a more distinctive soundtrack while preserving refinement.
Lightweight Performance Remains The Priority
Performance figures reflect the engineering changes. With a kerb weight of 1,170 kg, the Supersport 400 achieves a power to weight ratio of 344 bhp per tonne, reaches 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, and has a claimed top speed of 180 mph, pending final certification. Rather than relying on sheer power alone, Morgan continues to focus on balance, steering feel, and direct driver feedback, characteristics that have defined the brand for decades.
