2026 Mitsubishi Outlander LS Black Edition

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The LS Black Edition adds a comprehensive black exterior treatment to the Outlander LS.

  • Interior upgrades include heated front seats, power driver adjustment, and microsuede trim.

  • Pricing starts from $47,990, with Australian showroom arrivals from February.

A Sharper Take on a Familiar SUV

The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander LS Black Edition is a focused update rather than a reinvention. Introduced as a limited-edition model for Australia, it builds on the existing LS grade with a clear brief: add visual impact and a handful of comfort upgrades while keeping the Outlander’s everyday usability intact. It is positioned squarely within the heart of the midsize SUV market, aimed at buyers who want something a little more distinctive without stepping up to higher trims.

Exterior Details That Change the Tone

Most of the story sits on the surface. The LS Black Edition applies a consistent black theme across the exterior, starting with a two-tone black roof and extending to the roof rails, side mirrors, and belt-line mouldings. At the front, the Dynamic Shield grille is finished in black, joined by black fog lamp surrounds and dark garnishes integrated into the bumpers. Black 18-inch alloy wheels complete the package.

Nothing about the Outlander’s proportions changes here. The stance remains familiar, but the darker detailing gives the body a lower, more deliberate look, particularly in profile. It is a visual shift rather than a structural one, but it is enough to clearly separate this version from a standard LS at a glance.

Cabin Upgrades with a Clear Purpose

Inside, the LS Black Edition borrows selectively from higher grades in the range. Heated front seats are standard, paired with an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat. The upholstery combines microsuede with synthetic leather bolsters, a noticeable step up in texture from the regular LS trim. Synthetic leather is also applied to the front and rear door trims, lifting the overall cabin presentation without altering the layout.

Core LS features remain, including the eight-speaker Dynamic Yamaha Sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the Australian-tuned suspension setup that underpins the Outlander’s local ride and handling balance.

All Wheel Drive as Standard

One mechanical distinction is standard all-wheel drive. The LS Black Edition is available only with Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control system, positioned as delivering improved traction and handling response across varying conditions. It is a straightforward pairing, aligning the tougher visual treatment with added grip rather than offering a purely cosmetic package.

Pricing and Availability

Priced from $47,990 (RRP), the Outlander LS Black Edition sits neatly between the standard LS and higher-grade variants. Dealership arrivals are scheduled for February, reinforcing the Outlander’s ongoing role as a volume player within Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited’s local lineup.
