The 2026 MINI Cooper S Paul Smith Edition arrives as part of a broader collaboration between MINI and British designer Paul Smith, continuing a relationship built on shared national identity and visual character. Rather than reworking the Cooper S mechanically, this edition concentrates on how the car presents itself, using color, pattern, and small design gestures to give the familiar three-door hatch a more individual voice. It is positioned as a style-led variant within the standard Cooper lineup, not a limited-production concept.
Exterior Colors and Signature Details
From the outside, the Cooper S Paul Smith Edition is defined by its paintwork and contrast elements. One of the key finishes developed specifically for this edition is Inspired White, paired with an exclusive Nottingham Green roof. The roof edge on the driver’s side carries Paul Smith’s signature stripes, adding a moment of color that reveals itself only on closer inspection.
In addition to Inspired White, all models in the Paul Smith Edition range are also available in Statement Grey. Across all exterior colors, Nottingham Green details appear on the side mirrors, octagonal front grille, and wheel hub caps, each carrying Paul Smith branding. The look is completed by 18-inch Night Flash Spoke Black alloy wheels finished with a tinted clear coat in Dark Steel, giving the Cooper S a slightly heavier visual stance without altering its proportions.
Interior Design With British Humor
Inside, the Cooper S Paul Smith Edition adopts a shared interior theme across the range. Nightshade Blue seats sit alongside black knitted surfaces featuring tone-on-tone stripe patterns. The approach is deliberately understated, relying on texture rather than contrast stitching or bright trim.
Small moments carry the character. Opening the door triggers a light projection that simply reads “Hello,” while the door sill carries the message “Every day is a new beginning.” A textile band in Paul Smith’s signature stripes is integrated into the 6 o’clock spoke of the sports steering wheel. Even the floor mats are personalized, featuring a hand-drawn graphic of Paul Smith’s rabbit motif. The effect is quietly playful rather than overtly decorative.
Cooper S Performance Remains Intact
Mechanically, the Paul Smith Edition does not alter the Cooper S formula. The petrol-powered MINI Cooper S continues with a WLTP combined fuel consumption figure of 6.7 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 150 g/km for the German market. Performance figures beyond this are not detailed in the release. The focus here is clearly on design identity rather than driving dynamics or powertrain changes.
