2026 Lotus Eletre 600 Sport SE

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Lotus restructures the Eletre line-up with new “600” and “900” naming.

  • Eletre 600 Sport SE produces 612 hp from a dual-motor AWD setup.

  • Dynamic handling upgrades and active aero sharpen the SUV’s character.

Lotus Simplifies The Eletre Range

The 2026 Lotus Eletre 600 Sport SE arrives as part of a broader overhaul of the brand’s electric line-up, and the changes go beyond a simple trim reshuffle.

Lotus has introduced a new naming structure for both the Eletre hyper-SUV and the Emeya hyper-GT, replacing the previous confusing variant hierarchy with clearer “600” and “900” performance designations. In simple terms, the numbers now directly reference output levels.

For the Eletre 600 Sport SE, that means a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 450 kW, or 612 bhp.

The new structure also revives familiar Lotus trim names from the past. GT, GT SE and Sport SE all return, though now attached to large electric performance vehicles rather than lightweight petrol sports cars. It feels slightly unusual at first. Then again, Lotus has been steadily reshaping its identity over the last few years.

Sportier Details Give The Eletre More Presence

The Eletre already stood apart from traditional luxury SUVs because of its proportions.

It sits low for something this large, with a cab-forward profile, slim lighting signatures and a body surface treatment that relies heavily on airflow management. Lotus continues to lean into what it calls “porosity,” where air passes through and around sections of the body rather than simply over it.

On the Sport SE trim, the visual package becomes more assertive without crossing into excess. The model gains the Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack, an active rear spoiler and larger wheel options that subtly change the SUV’s stance.

It still looks more technical than muscular. That has become part of the Eletre’s identity.

The body remains cleanly sculpted, with narrow lighting elements and layered aerodynamic surfacing replacing the oversized aggression seen elsewhere in this segment.

A Cabin Focused More On Technology Than Theatre

Inside, the Eletre 600 Sport SE mixes performance cues with a strong emphasis on comfort and digital integration.

Lotus fits LOTUSWEAR Performance Fabric seats alongside configurable ambient lighting, a large head-up display and KEF audio systems depending on specification level. The Sport SE also gains ventilated and massaging front seats together with soft-close doors, reinforcing its positioning as the more driver-focused luxury variant within the 600 range.

The dashboard architecture remains minimal and heavily screen-oriented, though it avoids looking overly sterile thanks to layered materials and contrasting textures.

There is still a noticeable Lotus influence in the seating position and visibility. The cabin feels lower and more cocooned than many rival electric SUVs.

Performance Still Sits At The Centre

Despite the increased luxury focus, Lotus clearly does not want the Eletre to lose its performance credibility.

The 600 Sport SE uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing 612 bhp, allowing 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 256 km/h. Power comes from a 112 kWh battery pack paired with an 800V electrical architecture.

Lotus claims a maximum WLTP driving range of up to 600 km for the Eletre line-up, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 20 minutes under ideal conditions.

That combination places the Eletre directly against high-end electric SUVs such as the Porsche Macan Electric, BMW iX M70 and Audi SQ8 e-tron. The difference is that Lotus still appears determined to make its SUV behave like something wearing a sports car badge.
