The 2026 Lexus ES 350H Premium Plus introduces Lexus’ latest sixth-generation hybrid system with available E-Four all-wheel drive.

The ES Evolves Into a Larger Luxury Sedan
The 2026 Lexus ES 350H Premium Plus arrives as the most extensive redesign in the model’s history since the sedan first entered the Lexus lineup in 1989. While the ES has traditionally occupied a comfortable middle ground between executive sedan and luxury cruiser, the new generation edges noticeably closer to flagship territory in both size and refinement.
Lexus designers based the new sedan around the “Clean Tech x Elegance” philosophy, taking inspiration from the LF-ZC concept first shown at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. The resulting shape is smoother and more tapered than the outgoing ES, with softer surfacing and a more flowing roofline that gives the sedan an almost fastback-like silhouette from certain angles.
Dimensionally, the changes are significant. Overall length increases to 5,140 mm, while the wheelbase stretches to 2,950 mm. Width also grows by 55 mm. Those figures place the ES much closer to larger F-segment luxury sedans than before.
Exterior Details Focus on Aerodynamics
The spindle grille design evolves into what Lexus now describes as a “spindle body,” integrating the front fascia into a smoother and cleaner shape. Hybrid variants such as the ES 350H Premium Plus retain a slim upper cooling aperture that separates them visually from the fully electric models.
Along the sides, black lower mouldings visually reduce the car’s height despite the larger body dimensions. The rear section is particularly dramatic, tapering tightly into a broad light bar that spans the width of the vehicle. Additional L-shaped lighting units mounted low in the bumper corners further emphasise the wide stance.
Lexus also paid close attention to aerodynamic efficiency. The sedan uses a full underbody cover, airflow-control fins, flush mouldings, and semi-flush door handles to improve stability and reduce cabin noise.
Minimalist Cabin Prioritises Passenger Comfort
Inside, the 2026 Lexus ES 350H Premium Plus moves toward a cleaner and more minimalist layout than previous generations. Traditional switchgear has largely been replaced by illuminated “Hidden Switches” integrated into the dashboard trim.
The larger wheelbase allows for noticeably improved rear-seat accommodation. Lexus claims a best-in-class front-to-rear seating distance of 1,102 mm, while the wider cabin contributes to a more lounge-like atmosphere.
Technology also sees a substantial upgrade. A new 14-inch LexusConnect multimedia system becomes the focal point of the dashboard, supported by a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. Lexus says the system operates with four times faster processing speeds and eight times greater storage capacity than before.
Sixth-Generation Hybrid System Debuts
Powering the ES 350H Premium Plus is Lexus’ new sixth-generation hybrid setup. The system combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a revised front eAxle and a new lithium-ion battery pack.
Lexus quotes total system output at 247 hp (182 kW) for the ES 350H, while fuel consumption is listed at 4.4 L/100 km in European specification. Front-wheel drive and E-Four all-wheel drive configurations are available.
The sedan also adopts a revised GA-K platform with additional structural reinforcement and, for the first time on an ES, a multi-link rear suspension arrangement. Lexus appears to have prioritised composure, cabin isolation, and long-distance comfort over outright sporting character.
That positioning leaves the ES 350H Premium Plus competing directly with established German executive sedans, though Lexus continues to focus heavily on refinement, quietness, and passenger comfort as its defining qualities.
