2026 Lexus ES 300h Australian Version

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Sixth generation hybrid system combines a 2.5 litre engine, new eAxle and lithium ion battery.

  • Combined system output is 144kW, with the ES 300h configured with front wheel drive.

  • Australian pricing starts at $75,000 for Luxury and $82,000 with the Enhancement Pack.

The 2026 Lexus ES 300h Australian Version will bring hybrid power to the eighth generation ES range later in 2026, following the introduction of the ES 350e and ES 500e battery electric models. It uses a newly developed sixth generation Lexus series parallel hybrid system and will be offered in Luxury specification, with an optional Enhancement Pack.

Larger Body Changes The ES Proportions

Lexus has made the new ES larger in every dimension. Its exterior follows the "Clean Tech x Elegance" design theme, using a flowing silhouette, contoured body surfaces and a more substantial stance than before.

The evolved spindle shaped front treatment now runs from the bumper into the bonnet. Underneath, an evolution of the GA-K architecture has been redesigned around both hybrid and battery electric powertrains.

Lexus also applied its "golden ratio" principle to the relationship between wheelbase, length, width and height, with increased cabin space one of the priorities.

The ES 300h Luxury receives 19 inch alloy wheels and LED exterior lighting. Seven paint colours are offered, including the newly developed Wavelength finish.

Hidden Switches Reshape The Cabin

The dashboard takes a cleaner approach than the outgoing ES. Responsive hidden switches are integrated into the dashboard and steering wheel, appearing when approached or touched while retaining physical feedback.

A 12.3 inch multi information display sits ahead of the driver, while a 14.0 inch full HD central touchscreen runs the latest multimedia system using the Arene operating system. Bamboo layering ornamentation combines printed woodgrain effects with surface emitting illumination.

Luxury specification includes NuLux upholstery, a panoramic roof, dual zone climate control, heated front seats with eight way adjustment and a 10 speaker audio system.

Choosing the Enhancement Pack adds ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a head up display, wireless phone charging, panoramic view monitor and 17 speaker Mark Levinson audio.

New Hybrid System Produces 144kW

The 2026 Lexus ES 300h combines a highly efficient 2.5 litre inline four cylinder petrol engine with a new eAxle. Its Power Control Unit is integrated into the transaxle, while electrical energy is stored in a lithium ion battery.

Combined system output is 144kW. Lexus does not provide engine only output, torque, battery capacity, acceleration, fuel consumption or electric only range in the supplied Australian release. The ES 300h is confirmed with front wheel drive.

Structural rigidity has also been increased to reduce vibration, while a fully redeveloped suspension is intended to improve ride smoothness and the way power is transferred to the road.

Luxury Grade Starts At $75,000

Australian pricing begins at $75,000 for the ES 300h Luxury, excluding statutory charges and other on road costs. Adding the Enhancement Pack raises the manufacturer's list price to $82,000.

That positions the ES 300h as the lowest priced eighth generation ES announced for Australia, while retaining the petrol electric configuration familiar to existing ES buyers.
