2026 Lancia Ypsilon HF

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Lancia Ypsilon HF packs 280 hp EV performance into a compact, rally-inspired package.

  • It features a widened track (+30 mm), lowered ride height (–20 mm), and real racing tech like a Torsen diff and Alcon brakes.

  • Positioned to spar with hot hatches like the Abarth 600e and Alfa Junior Veloce, with real rally pedigree behind it.

Electric Performance Meets Rally DNA

The 2026 Lancia Ypsilon HF drops like a stunt in your feed. A compact EV, but not meek. The press snaps show a wide, aggressive stance—with wheel arches pushed out by 30 mm and a ride lowered 20 mm. It's honest about its mission: speed with style. And it’s quick. 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, thanks to a front-mounted 280 hp (207 kW) motor and 345 Nm torque. Stallion in a pocket–sized field.

Design: Compact But Confident

At first glance it’s a hatch, but dig deeper and the rally cues shine. Bigger bumpers, dark HF badges, and that body stance make it feel like it could chase a hill climb. Surfaces are taut—no fluff. The electric-blue dash inside peeks through tinted glass, hinting at a spirited personality. Lancia’s new red elephant HF logo appears bold on the grille. Not retro for its own sake—retro with intent.

Tech You Can Feel, Not Just Read

Beneath, there’s real hardware. A Torsen limited-slip diff isn’t optional fluff—it’s functional. Alcon four-piston brakes with 355 mm discs aren't there for show. Level-2 autonomy, 10.25″ screens, and wireless everything—sure, it’s modern, but the ride geometry and steering hint at edge-of-the-road fun, not lazy luxury. The 54 kWh battery delivers around 370 km WLTP range, with fast charging that nets 100 km in roughly 10 minutes. Practical meets poise.

Rivals and Global Appeal

Abarth 600e and Alfa Junior Veloce are nearby on the pecking order. But the Ypsilon HF throws something extra into the mix: a full-on rally-backed lineage. While others lean on character, this one has rally kits and Trofeo Lancia on its resume. It’s aimed at drivers worldwide who want a hot hatch with substance—and style.
