2026 Kia Stonic GT-Line
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 1, 2025
The GT Line elevates the 2026 Stonic with distinctive styling, including unique 17-inch wheels and GT-specific elements.
Inside, dual 12.3‑inch screens and capacitive controls upgrade the cabin’s tech and usability.
The standard 1.0-litre turbo engine pairs with a 48V mild-hybrid system in select markets, improving fuel economy and refinement.
A Sculpted Look with Subtle Flair
On deadline, the first impression of the 2026 Kia Stonic GT Line is its presence rather than volume. It shares the refreshed Stonic’s styling cues—wider LED headlights, “Star Map” lighting, and sharper lines—yet GT Line gains an edge. The appearance package includes a unique 17-inch alloy wheel design, color-matched accents on the front bumper matching the roof, and a rear fascia that hints at sportiness with metallic diffuser elements and stylized exhaust cutouts. This design retains Stonic’s compact footprint—just over 4.16 metres long—but projects a stronger urban attitude.
Tech-Focused Cabin with Upper-Segment Influence
Inside, the GT Line shifts Stonic’s interior closer to the brand’s larger models. Two 12.3‑inch displays form a seamless instrument cluster and infotainment system behind a shared glass panel. The dash layout is cleaner, fitting the aesthetic found in Kia’s higher-tier models. Capacitive touch controls for climate and infotainment, like those in the Sportage and EV6, replace traditional switches. The cabin features ambient lighting, wireless charging, and upgraded connectivity with Kia Connect services for real-time car diagnostics and remote control—though the software appears to correspond with earlier models rather than Kia’s newest interface.
Engine Efficiency with Mild-Hybrid Support
Under the bodywork, the GT Line keeps the familiar 1.0‑litre T‑GDi three-cylinder engine. In markets such as Australia, it’s standard with a 48V mild-hybrid system. That brings a power increase (84.5 kW vs. 74 kW) and smoother operation through idle-stop and coasting functions. Kia quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 10.8 seconds with the DCT, versus 12.1 seconds without hybrid support. The mild-hybrid also trims CO₂ by about 4–5 g/km, improving urban fuel economy.
Dimensions and Practicality Remain City-Friendly
Despite the updates, the Stonic GT Line maintains its practical everyday dimensions. At 4,165 mm long, it remains compact for tight city navigation. The boot holds around 352 litres, enough for weekly errands or a weekend outing. The size hasn’t grown, but functionality hasn’t been compromised.
