2026 INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X
By Lorenzo Bianchi May 14, 2026
Trialmaster X becomes the most capable and best-equipped Grenadier yet.
Standard equipment includes front and rear locking differentials and a 5.5-ton integrated winch.
Available in both Station Wagon and Quartermaster pickup forms from £75,195.
INEOS Combines Rugged Hardware With More Luxury
The INEOS Grenadier has always leaned heavily into toughness. Boxy proportions, exposed utility, mechanical simplicity. It never tried to disguise what it was supposed to be.
The new 2026 INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X keeps that same philosophy intact, though now with noticeably more comfort layered into the experience.
Positioned as the new flagship of the Grenadier lineup, the Trialmaster X merges the hardcore off-road specification of the existing Trialmaster with several of the more refined comfort and technology features previously associated with the Fieldmaster trim.
INEOS describes it as the “ultimate combination of off-road toughness, premium day-to-day comfort and intrepid spirit.”
For once, that sort of press-release language actually feels fairly accurate.
The Design Still Looks Properly Utilitarian
Visually, the Trialmaster X does not attempt to soften the Grenadier formula.
The upright windshield, flat body panels, exposed hinges, and squared-off proportions remain almost entirely unchanged. It still looks closer to a traditional expedition vehicle than the increasingly smooth and aerodynamic SUVs dominating the market.
That honesty is probably part of the appeal.
Trialmaster X models receive exclusive badging together with a standard Scottish White paint finish, while Devil Red, Magic Mushroom, and Donny Grey are also available as optional exterior colours. Contrast roof finishes can be specified in either Inky Black or Scottish White.
The visual stance is heavily influenced by the hardware underneath.
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires wrapped around 17-inch alloy wheels immediately reinforce the vehicle’s off-road intent. The raised air intake, safari windows, and external storage solutions further emphasize the expedition-ready identity.
Unlike many luxury-focused SUVs that merely imitate ruggedness, the Grenadier still feels designed around actual outdoor use first.
Interior Comfort Takes A Noticeable Step Forward
The biggest changes happen inside.
Previous Grenadier models occasionally felt intentionally sparse, almost military in their execution. The Trialmaster X introduces a more premium atmosphere without abandoning the practical layout that defines the cabin.
Black or dual-tone grey-and-black leather upholstery becomes standard equipment, alongside heated front seats, carpet floor mats, and an upgraded premium sound system.
Those additions may sound fairly ordinary in the luxury SUV world, but within the Grenadier lineup they significantly shift the overall character of the vehicle.
It still feels rugged. Just less punishing for long-distance travel.
Privacy glass and a lockable spare-wheel storage box also improve usability and security for expedition-style driving.
Serious Off-Road Hardware Remains Standard
Importantly, INEOS has not diluted the Grenadier’s capability in pursuit of extra comfort.
The Trialmaster X includes front and rear locking differentials as standard, together with high-load electrical preparation for accessories and expedition equipment. A 5.5-ton integrated front winch is also fitted directly from the factory.
Towing capability remains substantial too.
INEOS quotes a 7-ton gross train weight backed by a standard-fit tow ball setup. The company also continues offering a petrol fuel filter and diesel water separator for regions where fuel quality may be inconsistent.
That detail alone says a lot about who the Grenadier is actually built for.
Pricing starts at £75,195 for the Station Wagon and £75,010 for the Quartermaster pickup version. Orders are open now.
