By Lorenzo Bianchi October 13, 2026
The 2027 Hyundai Bayon makes its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show, introducing a stronger SUV design, increased passenger space and a 440 liter luggage compartment.
Interior upgrades include available dual 12.3 inch curved displays, heated and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats and Hyundai Digital Key 2.
The new Bayon launches with 90 PS and 115 PS 1.0 T-GDI petrol engines, followed by a 1.6 liter hybrid producing a projected 138 PS in 2027.
Hyundai Bayon Returns With a More SUV Focused Design
The 2027 Hyundai Bayon has made its world debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, bringing a substantial update to Hyundai's compact SUV lineup. Developed with European customers in mind, the new generation puts greater emphasis on passenger comfort, connected technology and everyday practicality.
The Bayon continues to occupy the B-SUV segment, although Hyundai has given it a more pronounced SUV character rather than simply updating the outgoing model's appearance.
A longer wheelbase also creates more room inside, particularly for passengers travelling in the second row.
New Bayon N Line Adds Sportier Exterior Details
Hyundai describes the redesigned Bayon as having a stronger SUV identity, with proportions intended to retain the maneuverability expected of a compact crossover.
The N Line version takes a different approach, drawing visual inspiration from Hyundai's N performance models.
Its exterior features dedicated 18 inch alloy wheels, high gloss black cladding and a rear diffuser with integrated twin exhaust outlets.
The sportier treatment continues inside with N Line specific cloth and textile suede seats.
Hyundai has not provided exact body dimensions in the supplied announcement, although the longer wheelbase is one of the main changes affecting interior space.
Dual 12.3 Inch Displays and More Rear Seat Comfort
Inside, the new Bayon introduces equipment normally associated with larger SUVs.
Available dual 12.3 inch curved displays provide driving information and infotainment functions, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support smartphone connectivity.
Hyundai Digital Key 2 allows compatible smartphones and smartwatches to unlock and start the vehicle.
Front passengers can benefit from heated and ventilated seats, but Hyundai has also paid attention to those sitting behind.
The rear seats can recline and include available heating, a centre armrest and dedicated ventilation outlets.
An opening panoramic sunroof adds natural light to the cabin.
440 Liter Boot and Expanded Driver Assistance
The longer wheelbase contributes to increased rear legroom, while Hyundai also claims improved headroom and shoulder room.
Luggage capacity stands at 440 liters, with additional storage beneath the boot floor.
The SmartSense driver assistance package includes available Highway Driving Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
Surround View Monitor and parking collision avoidance technology are also offered.
New 138 PS Hybrid Joins the Range in 2027
At launch, the Bayon will be available with a 1.0 liter T-GDI petrol engine producing either 90 PS or 115 PS.
A new 1.6 liter hybrid is scheduled to follow in 2027, with projected output of 138 PS and CO2 emissions starting at 102 g/km.
The hybrid introduces adaptive regenerative braking controlled through steering wheel paddles.
Production of the new Bayon is planned to begin at Hyundai's Izmit facility in Türkiye later in 2026.
Hyundai has not yet announced European pricing.
