2026 Genesis GV60 Magma

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Genesis launches its first high-performance EV with the 2026 GV60 Magma.

  • Dual-motor setup delivers up to 650 hp with Boost Mode.

  • Magma-exclusive design and digital interfaces signal the brand’s performance future.

2026 GV60 Magma Marks Genesis’ Entry into High-Performance EV Territory

Genesis has unveiled the 2026 GV60 Magma, its first production EV developed specifically under the brand’s new “Luxury High Performance” philosophy. The debut at Circuit Paul Ricard sets a clear direction for the company’s next decade: pairing refined luxury with genuine motorsport-grade capability, rather than chasing output numbers alone.

The GV60 Magma arrives as the production evolution of last year’s concept, but the finished model reads far closer to a fully considered performance flagship. It is lower, wider, and visually more controlled than the standard GV60, signaling a deliberate shift toward a more mature, high-performance identity.

Design Focuses on Controlled Power and Aerodynamic Function

The Magma version leans heavily on stance. Genesis lowers the height by 20 mm and widens the proportions, creating a planted profile that no longer feels soft around the edges. A redesigned front bumper with a signature three-hole intake improves cooling while serving as a Magma identifier. Dark metal accents, high-gloss black trim, and wider 21-inch forged wheels reinforce the car’s monochrome, purposeful character.

Down the sides, larger fenders and three-hole side-skirt detailing emphasize width, while airflow-tuned elements channel cooling and stability. At the rear, a functional wing-type spoiler adds real downforce, and a revised bumper–diffuser assembly sharpens the car’s aerodynamic signature.

Inside, Genesis applies suede-like Chamude across the seats, console, and door panels, combining it with orange stitching and Magma-specific switchgear. The blackout approach to trim reduces glare while giving the cabin a focused, motorsport-inspired atmosphere.

Performance Oriented Around Precision Rather Than Excess

The GV60 Magma uses dual motors for a combined 448 kW (609 hp) and 740 Nm, rising to 478 kW (650 hp) and 790 Nm in Boost Mode for short bursts of increased response. Top speed reaches 264 km/h. Launch Control enables an acceleration run from zero to 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, underscoring its high-performance brief.

Genesis prioritizes control over spectacle. The suspension geometry is recalibrated, with electronic control systems (ECS, EoT) tuned for stability at high load. Hydro G-Bushings and dual-layer rear components reduce harshness without softening road feel. Larger brakes, monoblock front calipers, and high-friction rear materials further support the performance envelope.

Digital Systems Built for Immersion and Feedback

A Magma-exclusive digital interface transforms the cluster into a three-circle display showing temperature, G-force, and power data. The infotainment system adds VGS (Virtual Gear Shift), Drift Mode, and High-Performance Battery Control, blending functional telemetry with driver engagement tools.
