Interactive cabin tech includes Face Connect and Crystal Sphere.
Genesis Electrifies Its Luxury Identity
The 2025 Genesis GV60 US Version arrives as the brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle — a compact luxury crossover designed to bridge design purity and high performance. It’s a car that carries Genesis’ “Athletic Elegance” DNA into the age of electrification, fusing expressive design with advanced interaction technology.
Athletic Proportions, Sculpted Precision
The GV60 wears a taut, coupe-like profile uncommon among crossovers. Its long 2,900 mm wheelbase and short overhangs create a planted stance, while the signature Two-Line headlamps and relocated Crest Grille signal its EV identity. The body is clean and seamless, avoiding sharp character lines for a fluid surface language that feels modern and muscular at once
Details show clear attention to craftsmanship: a Clamshell Hood integrates the fenders and bonnet into one smooth panel; a new wing emblem, now 80% thinner and Guilloché-etched, reinforces the brand’s luxury credentials. The chrome Volt DLO window line forms a V-shaped signature, flowing rearward into a fixed spoiler that visually lowers the roofline.
A Cabin Designed to Interact
Inside, Genesis reinterprets its “Beauty of White Space” philosophy through a tech-focused but tranquil interior. The Crystal Sphere — a rotating, illuminated control orb — remains the centerpiece. When parked, it glows as ambient art; when powered on, it flips to reveal the drive selector. It’s part theater, part ergonomics.
The floating center console and panoramic ccIC (connected car Integrated Cockpit) combine digital clarity with open architecture. Sustainability also plays a role — recycled PET fabrics, plant-based leather, and eco-trim materials feature prominently throughout the cabin.
New interface technologies give the GV60 a human-like quality. Face Connect recognizes the driver to unlock the car, adjust mirrors, and set seat positions automatically, while Fingerprint Authentication allows keyless driving and secure in-car payments.
Electric Performance and Quiet Confidence
Under the sculpted body, the GV60 offers three powertrain configurations. The Performance AWD version produces up to 320 kW and 605 Nm, with a Boost Mode that briefly raises output to 360 kW and 700 Nm, enabling 0–100 km/h in roughly 4.0 seconds. The standard RWD and AWD models provide 168 kW and 234 kW respectively, all paired with a 77.4 kWh battery. Range estimates reach up to 451 km on RWD models under local certification cycles.
Charging performance remains a highlight. With 350 kW ultra-fast capability, the GV60 can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. A Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function supplies 3.6 kW, enough to power small appliances during camping or outages.
Dynamic systems like e-LSD, Preview Electronic Control Suspension, and Drift Mode underline that this isn’t merely an efficiency exercise — it’s an EV that retains the tactile joy Genesis is known for.
The Future in the Details
Genesis says the GV60’s mission goes beyond mobility — it’s about interaction. The Bang & Olufsen 17-speaker system, customizable digital sounds, and facial recognition hint at how the brand envisions “luxury that responds.”
For Genesis, the GV60 isn’t just another electric crossover. It’s a design statement — proof that the brand’s sculptural purity and technical sophistication can evolve without losing identity.
