2026 Genesis GV60 Australian Version

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The updated GV60 gains redesigned exterior styling and a new 27-inch panoramic cockpit display.

  • A larger 84kWh battery extends WLTP driving range to 561km with faster charging capability.

  • Genesis introduces a more accessible ADVANCED RWD variant priced from AUD $88,300 (MLP).

2026 Genesis GV60 Australian Version Gets More Range and a Fresh New Look

Genesis is giving its smallest electric SUV a well-timed refresh. The 2026 Genesis GV60 Australian Version arrives with cleaner styling, a noticeably updated interior, and a larger battery that pushes driving range even further. It also introduces a new ADVANCED RWD model, making the GV60 a more accessible entry point into the brand's Australian EV lineup when deliveries begin in June.

A Familiar Shape With Sharper Details

The GV60 hasn't been reinvented, but the changes are easy to spot once you look a little closer. Up front, Genesis has reshaped the bumper and fitted a new three-dimensional grille, while its signature Two-Line Micro-Lens Array headlights give the crossover a more distinctive face.

The wheel arch cladding is now body-coloured, helping the SUV look cleaner and more refined from the side. New 19-inch alloy wheels complete the updated appearance, and a revised underbody improves airflow, lowering the drag coefficient to 0.28. It's an evolutionary update rather than a dramatic redesign, but the result looks more polished overall.

The Biggest Changes Are Inside

Step into the cabin and the improvements become much more obvious. The dashboard is now dominated by a new 27-inch connected car Integrated Cockpit, which combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into one wide panoramic display.

Genesis has kept the distinctive Crystal Sphere gear selector, one of the GV60's signature design features, while introducing a new three-spoke steering wheel and fresh interior trim combinations, including Obsidian Black leather and an optional Glacier White and Ash Grey finish. The cabin still follows the brand's "Beauty of White Space" philosophy, but it now feels even cleaner and more contemporary.

Longer Range Without Changing the Formula

Under the floor sits Genesis' latest fourth-generation 84kWh battery pack. In the ADVANCED RWD model, a single rear-mounted electric motor produces 168kW, while the updated battery increases the official WLTP driving range to 561km.

Charging remains one of the GV60's strongest points. Thanks to the E-GMP platform's 400V and 800V architecture, the battery can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger. A revised battery conditioning system also helps maintain charging performance in colder weather.

Small Refinements That Add Up

Not every upgrade is immediately visible. Genesis has revised the suspension, added more sound insulation, improved steering response, and fitted larger four-piston front brake calipers alongside the latest Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0.

Technology has moved forward as well. Digital Key 2.0 allows compatible smartphones and smartwatches to unlock and start the vehicle, while expanded over-the-air update capability keeps more systems current without a dealer visit. New driver assistance features, including Lane Keeping Assist 2 and a Hands-On Detection steering wheel, round out the update.

The refreshed GV60 enters a competitive luxury EV segment that includes the BMW iX1, Audi Q4 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQA and Volvo EX40. With more driving range, a smarter cabin and a lower starting price, Genesis has made its electric crossover a stronger contender for Australian buyers.
