Unveiled at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, the Formula S is the first member of an entirely new product family. Known simply as the Formula Series, it introduces Fang Cheng Bao to the sedan market while taking a very different approach from traditional four-door cars.

Rather than offering a single body style, the company has developed the Formula S around a "one car, multiple forms" philosophy. Buyers will eventually be able to choose between the standard Formula S sedan, the Formula S GT shooting brake, and the larger Formula SL sedan.

A design that prioritizes stance

Looking through the official images, it becomes clear that proportions were a major focus from the beginning.

All three models share a footprint exceeding five metres in length, two metres in width, and a wheelbase of three metres. Those dimensions create a substantial presence, but the cars avoid appearing bulky thanks to their low rooflines and wide-body stance.

The Formula S sedan adopts a particularly athletic posture. Wide wheel arches, a front splitter, and a rear diffuser contribute to a profile that feels closer to a performance car than a traditional family sedan.

Distinctive lighting signatures also play a role. Fang Cheng Bao refers to the front lamps as "Cheetah Eyes," while the rear features what the company calls Infinity Ring taillights. The names may come from the marketing department, but the lighting graphics do help give the Formula S family a recognizable identity.

The most unusual aspect of the Formula S project is the variety offered from day one.

The standard Formula S appears aimed at buyers seeking a sporty sedan. The Formula S GT takes a more lifestyle-oriented approach with its shooting brake body style and extended roofline. Meanwhile, the Formula SL moves toward the luxury end of the spectrum with cleaner surfacing, a longer profile, a metal grille treatment, and an electrically deployed rear wing.

Despite their differences, all three models share the same underlying design philosophy.
