For more than five decades, Donkervoort has built lightweight sports cars almost exclusively with left-hand drive. That changes with the 2027 Donkervoort P24 RS RHD, the first production model from the Dutch manufacturer designed for right-hand-drive markets. It is more than a steering wheel swap. The announcement marks the company's entry into countries that have previously been out of reach, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Australia, and several markets across Asia, Oceania, and Africa.

Production will remain highly limited. Of the planned 150 P24 RS models, only 30 will be built in right-hand drive, with UK specialist Premiere GT confirmed as the official dealer and service partner. Customer deliveries for those markets are scheduled to begin in early 2028.

Built Around Lightweight Engineering

The P24 RS continues Donkervoort's long-standing focus on reducing weight rather than simply adding power.

With a claimed dry weight of 780 kg, it sits well below the one-tonne mark thanks to a hybrid chassis made from welded tubes reinforced with Ex-Core carbon-fibre inserts. The compact supercar measures 4,000 mm in length and rides on a 2,420 mm wheelbase, staying true to the brand's philosophy of keeping mass to a minimum wherever possible.

According to Donkervoort, the result is the only production car producing 600 hp while weighing under 1,000 kilograms.

Driver Focus Comes Before Everything Else

Rather than chasing headline technology, Donkervoort has concentrated on making the driving experience adjustable without becoming complicated.

Its newly developed 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 uses the company's Power To Choose system, allowing the driver to switch between 400, 500, and 600 hp depending on road conditions or personal preference. Suspension settings, traction control, and engine output can all be tailored, giving owners flexibility without changing the car's core character.

Despite its focus on performance, practicality has not been ignored. The removable Twin Targa roof remains part of the package, while the luggage compartment offers 298 litres of storage, an unusual figure for a car in this segment.

Performance That Relies On Low Mass

Performance figures underline why Donkervoort continues to prioritize lightweight construction.

The 2027 Donkervoort P24 RS RHD reaches 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds, continues beyond 300 km/h, and is capable of generating more than 2.3 g of lateral acceleration in corners. Rather than relying solely on outright horsepower, the company credits advances in turbocharging, cooling, and carbon-fibre engineering for delivering those numbers while remaining compliant with modern safety and emissions requirements.
