2026 Citroen 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Citroen 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept debuts at the Paris Motor Show alongside the passenger-focused 2 CV Concept, revisiting the original French light commercial vehicle.

  • Developed by Citroen's design team, the electric concept explores straightforward construction, accessible mobility and practical transportation for small businesses.

Citroen Brings the 2 CV Fourgonnette Back to Paris

The 2026 Citroen 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept has made its debut at the Paris Motor Show, bringing back a familiar name from the French manufacturer's commercial vehicle history. Presented alongside the new 2 CV Concept, it revisits the small delivery van that once served shopkeepers, tradespeople and delivery drivers.

The original Fourgonnette was a fairly straightforward working vehicle. It offered practical transportation without unnecessary complication, becoming part of everyday life for businesses that needed something affordable and dependable.

Citroen has returned to that idea with an electric interpretation, although the new Fourgonnette is more of a design exercise than a vehicle being prepared for production.

Classic Fourgonnette Silhouette Inspires the Design

The concept takes its direction from the recognizable silhouette of the original 2 CV Fourgonnette, a vehicle remembered for its simple construction and practical character.

Rather than reproducing the historic model exactly, Citroen's designers have explored how its identity could fit into a contemporary electric commercial vehicle.

The Fourgonnette is conceived as the light commercial version of the new 2 CV Concept, sharing its emphasis on simplicity, accessibility and ease of use.

It is an interesting departure from the increasingly complex approach seen in modern vehicle development [Inference].

Citroen has not released detailed dimensions, wheel specifications or individual exterior design features in the announcement.

Everyday Commercial Use Remains the Main Focus

For generations of working drivers, the original Fourgonnette was a practical companion. It could support daily deliveries, small businesses and tradespeople without demanding much attention beyond the work itself.

That thinking has carried into the new concept.

Citroen describes the Fourgonnette as a vehicle designed around essential functions, with particular attention paid to straightforward operation and everyday convenience.

The company has also drawn on its longstanding relationship with professional customers, which stretches back more than a century.

The interior remains largely undocumented. Citroen has not provided information about seating arrangements, dashboard technology, cargo compartment dimensions or payload capacity.

Those details would be important for a production commercial vehicle, but they are not the focus of this design study.

Electric Mobility Without Confirmed Performance Figures

The new 2 CV Fourgonnette explores an electric approach to light commercial transportation.

For now, the manufacturer has not announced motor output, battery capacity, driving range or charging performance.

Instead, the project concentrates on the original Fourgonnette's guiding principles: accessibility, practical design and ease of use.
