Official Images Confirm Electric Expansion
BYD has officially released images of the 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV, confirming the arrival of a fully electric mid size sedan within the Seal 07 family. The model had previously appeared in filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, but these new images offer the clearest view yet of how the production car presents itself.
For context, the existing Seal 07 DM-i plug-in hybrid is currently priced between 139,800 and 195,800 yuan. Final pricing for the electric version has not been announced. [Unverified]
What is immediately apparent from the images is that BYD has chosen continuity rather than reinvention. The Seal 07 EV does not attempt to distance itself visually from the broader series. It refines it.
Exterior Proportions and Surface Treatment
The 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, riding on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. On paper, that places it firmly in the mid size category. In the images, those numbers translate into a low, stretched profile with a composed stance.
The front fascia adopts a closed grille layout typical of dedicated EVs. Narrow headlights extend outward with a focused expression, while a three-section lower intake introduces subtle layering. The surfaces are clean and largely uninterrupted. There is confidence in the restraint.
From the side, the long wheelbase suggests generous cabin packaging. The roofline appears gently tapered, though not dramatically so, preserving rear headroom while maintaining a sedan silhouette that feels settled rather than aggressive.
At the rear, a continuous taillight assembly spans the width of the car. A chrome strip along the upper edge adds a slight visual break, preventing the tail from feeling heavy. It is a small detail, but it gives the rear elevation a measured finish.
240 kW Electric Drive Configuration
Under the skin, the 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV is equipped with a TZ200XYAT drive motor manufactured by Nanjing BYD Auto Co., Ltd. Maximum power output is rated at 240 kW. Torque figures and acceleration times have not been disclosed.
A 240 kW rating positions the Seal 07 EV comfortably within the upper tier of mainstream electric sedans. It implies strong mid-range performance without suggesting outright performance car ambitions.
Lidar is an indication of serious intent in the very competitive EV market, which is becoming more and more defined by digital capability.
Buyers in this segment expect more than range and power. They expect intelligent integration.
Positioning in a Competitive EV Segment
The 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV enters a mid size electric sedan category that continues to expand rapidly. Its dimensions, recognisable design language and 240 kW output suggest it is aimed squarely at customers seeking space, technology and balanced performance.
It is not radical in appearance. It does not need to be. The strength lies in proportion, hardware and quiet confidence. The Seal 07 EV extends BYD’s electric portfolio with a model that feels deliberate and considered, rather than experimental.
