The Premium uses a rear mounted 230kW electric motor producing 380Nm and reaches 100km/h in 5.5 seconds.
Its 74.88kWh Blade Battery delivers up to 510km WLTP range and supports 220kW DC rapid charging.
Premium equipment includes a 15.6 inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats and a 360 degree camera.
The 2026 BYD Atto 3 Premium Australian Version, presented in the supplied specification sheet as the ATTO 3 EVO Premium, brings a substantial mechanical change to BYD's compact electric SUV. Rather than simply adding equipment, Premium switches to rear wheel drive and a more powerful electric motor.
The brochure also places it above the Dynamic grade with a larger battery, quicker charging and a longer claimed driving range.
Familiar SUV Shape Gets A Cleaner Nose
The press imagery shows a familiar compact SUV silhouette but with a cleaner front treatment. Slim headlights connect visually across the nose, while large contrasting sections occupy the lower corners of the bumper. There is no conventional open grille dominating the front.
Premium measures 4,455mm long, 1,875mm wide and 1,615mm tall, with a 2,720mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is listed at 175mm. The relatively long wheelbase and short overhangs give it a planted stance without moving away from conventional five door SUV proportions.
Premium rides on 18 inch aluminium alloy wheels with Continental EcoContact 6 Q tires. The brochure also shows roof rails and a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade as standard equipment.
Larger Screen Leads The Premium Cabin
Inside, the Australian Premium receives an 8.8 inch digital driver's display and a 15.6 inch intelligent touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can operate through wired or wireless connections, while BYD's intelligent voice assistant is included.
The cabin uses synthetic leather upholstery. Both front seats are electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, with the driver's seat gaining six way adjustment and four way lumbar support. Multi color gradient ambient lighting adds another visual layer at night.
Cargo capacity is 490 litres with the second row upright and 1,360 litres with it folded. A one touch powered tailgate is standard, making the Premium more practical for everyday loading.
Rear Drive Motor Produces 230kW
The major difference sits underneath. Premium uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor driving the rear wheels, producing 230kW and 380Nm. BYD quotes 0 to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds and a 180km/h top speed.
Its Blade Battery uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry and has a 74.88kWh capacity. The electrical architecture operates at 800 volts, while maximum DC charging rises to 220kW. BYD lists a 30 minute DC charging time, with the specification referring to an 8 to 80 percent charging window.
WLTP combined range reaches 510km, with quoted consumption of 16.4kWh/100km. Vehicle to Load functionality is also standard.
More Performance Without Losing Utility
Premium carries a 530kg payload and is rated to tow up to 1,500kg with a braked trailer. Safety equipment includes a 360 degree camera, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking and lane keeping systems.
That combination makes the Premium more than an equipment upgrade. The move to rear wheel drive, 230kW output, 800 volt architecture and faster charging materially separates it from the lower Dynamic version shown alongside it in the Australian specification sheet.
