A Compact Hatch Elevated to Hypercar Territory

Vauxhall took a bold step by placing the ever-popular Corsa name on a hyper-performance concept. Built atop the STLA Small platform, the GSE Vision GT stretches the notion of what a compact hatchback can be.

Despite carrying the Corsa badge, the concept is significantly wider, lower, and more aggressive. Active aerodynamics—including a dynamic rear spoiler, diffuser, aero skirts, and a sculpted bonnet—ensure stability at its claimed 199 mph top speed.

Electric Power Meets Lightweight Engineering

Powering the concept are dual 350 kW motors—one per axle—producing a combined output of 800 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive setup and single-speed gearbox yield a startling 0–62 mph sprint in just 2.0 seconds. A temporary boost function adds 80 hp for overtakes, recharging in seconds.

The performance comes with surprisingly low mass: at only 1,170 kg, the concept remains compact yet dynamic, aided by an 82 kWh battery and lightweight construction throughout.

Design Language Infused with Heritage and Foresight

Vauxhall’s new “Bold and Pure” design ethos is evident. The concept introduces a more technically detailed approach to the Corsa signature: a transparent Vision grille houses a glowing Griffin logo, intersecting horizontal and vertical lighting (the “Compass” motif), plus flamboyant wheel arches.

Yellow, white, and black complement the sharp body surfaces. The rear features illuminated lighting and a diffuser that extends outward, reinforcing the concept’s high-speed, race-ready aesthetic.

Interior design follows a “less is more” strategy. A suspended driver seat, yoke steering, and head-up display replace traditional dashboards. Illuminated fabrics inform the driver visually—eliminating traditional screens to lessen distraction.
