2025 Opel Corsa GSE Vision GT Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Twin 350 kW motors deliver a combined output of 588 kW (800 hp) with 800 Nm torque, launching 0–100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds.

  • Top speed hits 320 km/h, enabled by active aerodynamics and lightweight construction; an 82 kWh battery and a 1,170 kg weight underline its extreme design.

  • Serves as a performance showcase for the GSE (Grand Sport Electric) sub-brand and previews design and platform hints for the upcoming seventh-generation Corsa on STLA Small.

Compact Packaging, Extreme Performance

The Corsa GSE Vision GT Concept might wear the Corsa badge, but it’s anything but ordinary. Built atop Stellantis’ next-gen STLA Small electric platform, it dramatically stretches expectations for what a small hatchback can be. The concept is wider and lower than the current Corsa, suggesting a harder-edged evolution of the compact hatch segment.

With an 800 hp electric drivetrain, Emerged as an all-wheel-drive system featuring dual 350 kW motors (one per axle), this compact speed machine rockets to 100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds — well above typical production supercars. A top speed of 320 km/h, backed by active aero elements, confirms Opel’s performance ambitions.

Weight-Saving Through Design

Despite housing an 82 kWh battery—a substantial pack for its class—the concept tips the scales at only 1,170 kg. Opel credits extensive use of lightweight materials for meeting this balance of power without the usual weight penalty.

Visual Language of the Future

Opel channels its “Bold and Pure” design mantra in the Vision GT. Sharp, intersecting surfaces, enlarged proportions, and dramatic wheel arches evoke compact power. The “Forward Vizor” grille and Compass-style LED signatures become focal points of a bolder, more technical aesthetic.

Aerodynamic flourishes include a retractable rear spoiler/airbrake and prominent splitters and diffusers. Interiors adopt a minimalist, cockpit-style layout—one that replaces screens with HUD visuals and retains the race-car essentials like a fixed seat and moveable pedals.

GSE Brand on Full Display

This concept signals the evolution of Opel's GSE brand—Grand Sport Electric—as a genuine high-performance EV sub-brand. Following the more accessible Mokka GSE, the Vision GT is its most extreme demonstration yet. Mark Adams, Opel’s design chief, highlights its relevance beyond gaming visuals, suggesting a practical underpinning for upcoming road models.
