2025 Genesis G90 Wingback Concept
By Lorenzo Bianchi November 26, 2025
Wingback retains the G90’s 125.2-inch wheelbase but adds a long roofline and wagon body, combining sedan size with station-wagon practicality.
Design overhaul includes flared wheel arches, wider track, dual spoilers, diffuser and quad exhausts for a muscular, aggressive stance.
Underpinnings remain the standard G90 platform with twin-turbo V6 and AWD, hinting at a realistic production path if demand arises.
Design and Proportions of the 2025 Genesis G90 Wingback Concept
The G90 Wingback stretches the proportions of the standard sedan into a stately wagon silhouette, preserving the 125.2-inch (≈ 3,180 mm) wheelbase and 207.7-inch overall length, while extending the roof sharply beyond the rear doors to craft a sleek, long-roof profile.
Visually, the concept sits lower, wider, and more purposeful than the regular G90. The front grille follows Genesis’s signature Crest pattern but is narrower, flanked by oversized lower air intakes and dive-planes that give the front a purposeful, athletic look.
At the rear, the wagon body concludes in a full-width LED taillight bar, topped by a dual-spoiler design and flanked by swollen wheel arches. Large 22-inch alloy wheels — wrapped in wide rubber — fill the arches, hinting at performance potential.
The long roofline, broad stance and flush surfaces suggest a blend of elegance and raw presence.
Performance and Platform Overview
Genesis has confirmed that the Wingback rides on the unmodified G90 sedan platform — meaning the same suspension hardpoints, drivetrain layout, and overall underpinnings remain intact.
Reports indicate use of the twin-turbo V6 engine (375 bhp / 409 hp variants) with all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission, identical to the standard model.
No official performance claims or revised tuning have been published for the Wingback. Its show-car status suggests these mechanicals remain unconfirmed. [Unverified] That said, the unchanged platform underlines the feasibility of a production version — a practical advantage over bespoke concept builds.
Key Features and Interior Impression
Genesis has not released detailed images or specifications for the interior of the Wingback. What is confirmed is that the concept belongs to the marque’s “One of One” bespoke customisation arm, indicating a handcrafted, low–volume approach rather than a full-scale rollout.
From external photographs, the extended roof, elongated rear cargo area, and revised rear-door geometry suggest more generous rear-seat headroom and luggage space compared with the sedan. [Inference] If converted to production trim, these layout changes would make the Wingback a rare blend of luxury comfort and wagon practicality — a combination increasingly rare among premium brands.
Market Positioning and Segment Context
By blending the size and luxury of a full-size sedan with the extended roof and cargo practicality of a wagon, the Wingback challenges established European performance wagons — historically dominated by nameplates such as the BMW M5 Touring, Audi RS 6 Avant and Mercedes-AMG estates.
