2025 Ford Bronco Sport Silver Lake Dunes Project
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 19, 2025
The Bronco Sport Silver Lake Dunes Project is a one-off concept celebrating the Bronco’s 60th anniversary, finished in Azure Gray with gradient graphics inspired by Michigan’s Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
It features visual upgrades like painted fenders, color-matched tow hooks, and Retro Mustang Mach‑E Rally wheels with all-terrain BFGoodrich tires, plus Ford Performance accessories including bull bars, Yakima paddleboard carriers, and Rigid light bars.
Ford positions the Project as inspirational customization, constructed with readily available parts to encourage owners to replicate the look—this is not a retail or limited-production vehicle.
Design That Remembers Place and Purpose
Ford's design team chose the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan—long a proving ground and rallying point for Bronco enthusiasts—as the visual inspiration. The Azure Gray base coat evocatively reflects the dune landscape, while the sunset-inspired gradient graphics—spanning yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue—mirror the dunes meeting Lake Michigan under dusk skies.
These visually distinctive accents are more than decoration. Painted fenders and coordinated tow hooks enhance the dune motif. They reinforce visual cohesion and evoke a sense of environment and experience.
Ready-to-Install Accessories Frame the Idea
The Silver Lake Dunes Project isn’t about bespoke parts; it's about using real-world accessories. Both vehicles sport Yakima roof-mounted paddleboard racks, Rigid LED light bars, and sturdy bull bars—off-the-shelf components from Ford Performance catalogs. These add-ons underline the project's practicality and off-road-ready focus.
On the Bronco Sport variant, Mustang Mach‑E Rally wheels in black pair with BFGoodrich XL-T TRTERRA tires, while the full-size Bronco counterpart wears heritage-style wheels with BFGoodrich KO3 AT tires—further signaling rugged performance while keeping needed styling cues consistent.
Purpose over Production
Ford clearly communicates that the Silver Lake Dunes Project is not a production or special-edition vehicle. Instead, it’s a concept exercise, aimed at demonstrating how owners can leverage Ford’s parts catalog to craft a personalized Bronco Sport with dune-day authenticity.
This design narrative reinforces corporate positioning: Bronco isn’t just an SUV—it's a blank canvas for lifestyle and storytelling—rooted in off-road heritage.
