A V8 with Authority

The car sticks to Aston Martin’s well-proven 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but the engineers have wrung more from it this time. Output is pushed to 680 PS and 800 Nm, which gives the Safety Car enough urgency to launch from 0–62 mph in 3.4 seconds and run on to around 202 mph. It’s hand-built, tuned for sharp response, and more than capable of controlling a field of Formula 1 cars bunched up behind it.

Aerodynamics with a Purpose

Because a Safety Car isn’t just about straight-line speed, Aston has worked in a series of aerodynamic tweaks. The centrally mounted bonnet blades vent heat from the V8 more effectively, while the full-width decklid spoiler balances the car at pace, adding stability when the FIA lightbar is strapped across the roof.
