Where Germany Meets Milan
The 2026 Bovensiepen Zagato landed at Villa d’Este with all the grace and gravitas you'd expect from a coachbuilt coupe bearing both the Bovensiepen and Zagato names. Underneath, it's BMW M4. But you wouldn't know it at first glance. This thing’s been entirely rebodied in carbon, given a fresh silhouette, and stripped of BMW’s usual styling cues.
Up front, there's no kidney grille. Just a stainless-steel mesh piece that feels more vintage than modern. The proportions are long and low, almost dramatic in profile — 4.94 meters nose to tail, sitting under 1.4 meters high. It’s got presence. The double-bubble roof, that signature Zagato touch, doesn’t feel tacked on — it flows, part of the design rather than an add-on. Rear quarter? Tucked and muscular, with a ducktail spoiler that’s more suggestion than wing.
A Cabin You Don’t Rush Through
Step inside, and it’s pretty clear: this isn’t your average M car interior with some stitching swapped out. Every inch has been redone — it’s a full Lavalina leather cabin, down to the last switch and panel. There's Alcantara trim, a minimalist instrument layout, and not much in the way of digital excess.
Apparently, they’re spending over 130 hours per car just on the interior alone. Buyers can choose their colors, their finishes, their vibe. And it shows. It doesn’t scream luxury. It whispers it.
Speed with Sophistication
Don’t let the polished exterior fool you — this thing’s got teeth. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six from the BMW M4 has been tuned up to 611 hp and 700 Nm. It’ll hit 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. Top speed? Over 300 km/h if you’re brave enough.
It’s all-wheel-drive, connected through BMW’s eight-speed auto. Suspension comes via Bilstein’s Damptronic system, with modes for Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus — though Comfort’s a relative term in a car like this.
And the exhaust? Akrapovič titanium, 40% lighter than stock. Deep, punchy, but not obnoxious. Sounds expensive. Probably is.
Limited, Naturally
This isn’t mass production. We’re talking hand-built, 250 hours per unit, with over 400 custom components. The exact production count hasn’t been confirmed yet, but expect numbers to be tight and pricing to match — official figures are due later this year.
First deliveries are set for Q2 of 2026. If you're lucky enough to get on the list, you’re not just buying a car. You’re commissioning one.
The 2026 Bovensiepen Zagato isn’t trying to be faster than a Ferrari or flashier than an Aston. It’s doing its own thing — equal parts German discipline and Italian drama — and that’s exactly the point.
