2025 Nissan Micra 350SR

By Team Dailyrevs

  • Mid-engined layout returns in a modernized tribute to Nissan’s 2002 Micra 350SR

  • Subtle visual updates and a 300-hp V6 engine make this restomod a proper sleeper

  • 23rd-anniversary build celebrates Nissan’s motorsport roots — and Japanese numerology

A 2002 Sleeper Reborn in 2025

The 2025 Nissan Micra 350SR isn’t a concept. It’s not a prototype. It’s a comeback. The original one-off mid-engined Micra from 2002 was already a wild build — compact shell, big V6, and no interest in playing nice. Now, Nissan’s brought it back for a quiet but meaningful anniversary: 23 years, a nod to “Ni-San” in Japanese numerals. Clever.

At first glance, it still looks like a Micra — kinda. The shape’s familiar, but everything’s cleaner, more dialed-in. The satin “liquid silver” paint carries just enough sheen to catch the light without screaming for attention. Blue accents and 18-inch RAYS wheels with throwback racing graphics hint at what’s hiding underneath.

V6 Heart, Midship Soul

Pop the hood and you’ll find… nothing. Because the real action’s behind the seats. Just like the 2002 version, the new 350SR runs a 3.5-liter V6, borrowed from the Nissan Murano but now beefed up with 350Z headers, NISMO cams, and a tuned ECU.

The result? Around 300 hp, all sent to the rear wheels. Not bad for something that weighs just 1,200 kg. This isn’t a weekend cruiser. It’s more like a track rat in disguise.

Subtle Inside, Still Serious

The updates don’t stop at paint and power. The interior’s been cleaned up, too. There’s a 9-inch touchscreen tucked into the dash now — Apple CarPlay and Android Auto onboard — but nothing excessive. The racing buckets and harnesses are still there. They had to be.

It’s a balance between usability and rawness. No digital overkill, no ambient lighting circus. Just enough tech to keep you connected.

Built by Legends, for Legacy

This isn’t just a nostalgia stunt. The original Micra 350SR came out of the RML Group — the same team behind Nissan’s BTCC glory days in the ‘90s. That motorsport pedigree carries over here, even if most people will never drive one.

It’s still a one-off. But a one-off with real presence. The kind of car you bring to a test day, not just a museum.

A Tribute with Teeth

The 2025 Micra 350SR isn’t trying to rewrite the hatchback playbook. It’s a tribute. A raw, loud, fast, weird little love letter to an era when brands built crazy things just because they could.

With the all-electric Micra looming on the horizon, this restomod bridges two eras — combustion chaos and clean future. And it does so in a way that feels refreshingly honest.
