2025 NIO EC6

By Team Dailyrevs

  • The 2025 NIO EC6 features a dual-motor AWD system delivering 360 kW and 700 Nm, achieving 0–100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

  • Available battery options include 75 kWh, 100 kWh, and an upcoming 150 kWh pack, offering ranges up to 935 km (CLTC).

  • The EC6 boasts a drag coefficient of 0.24, aided by a dual-mode active rear spoiler and aerodynamic design.

Coupe Cues with a Useful Stance

The 2025 NIO EC6 walks that fine line between performance design and everyday usability. It’s got the coupe-style fastback roof, yes — but the overall stance still says SUV. That balance is hard to strike, and NIO’s pulled it off better than most.

Up front, the usual NIO styling shows up: slim DRLs, clean lower grille, and a nose that feels futuristic without shouting about it. The split headlight setup remains, but the lines feel a bit more tucked in. The active rear spoiler is a nice touch — not just for looks, but for the aerodynamics. With a drag coefficient of just 0.24, the EC6 slips through the air better than you'd expect for something shaped like this.

Powertrain Options That Actually Matter

NIO kept it simple under the skin — dual motors, one up front (150 kW induction), one in the rear (210 kW permanent magnet), with total output landing at 360 kW and 700 Nm of torque. That’s enough to move the EC6 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Quick enough for anything this side of a track day.

Battery packs come in three flavors: 75 kWh, 100 kWh, and the soon-to-arrive 150 kWh solid-state unit. The current top range? 630 km (CLTC). With the 150 kWh pack, that jumps to 935 km — though we’ll believe that number in real-world use when we see it.

Still, it gives buyers flexibility, especially those not into battery swaps or frequent charging stops.

Inside: Minimalism, But With Screens

Inside the EC6, it’s familiar territory if you’ve been in any recent NIO. The 12.8-inch AMOLED center screen does most of the heavy lifting, flanked by a digital cluster and an optional 25.6-inch AR head-up display.

You get four interior themes, and yes, there’s a full glass roof (1.77 square meters of it) that makes the cabin feel more open. Material quality looks solid from the press photos — nothing flashy, just clean execution.

Tech-wise, NIO’s Aquila and ADAM systems are here again, powered by four NVIDIA Orin X chips and over 30 sensors for driver assistance. Translation: it sees a lot and thinks pretty fast.

Price and Where It Lands

In China, pricing starts at RMB 358,000 (roughly $49,500 USD), but you can drop that to RMB 288,000 if you go with NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service plan. That pricing puts it right in the zone for Tesla Model Y buyers — and undercuts some luxury rivals on tech.

The 2025 NIO EC6 doesn’t push for headlines. It just improves on what already worked. Quietly quick, well-proportioned, and spec'd to compete — especially with that 935 km range in its back pocket.
