A Familiar Face Hits New Streets
The 2025 Micro Microlino isn’t trying to reinvent itself—because it doesn’t have to. With deliveries expanding into Sweden, it carries forward the same smile-inducing aesthetic that made it a standout in cities across Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. At just 2.5 meters long, it’s shorter than most hatchbacks but somehow feels more substantial than its footprint suggests.
The front-opening door is still its party trick, and from every angle, the Microlino pulls off a tricky balance—cute without being cartoonish, functional without feeling utilitarian. There are subtle upgrades for 2025 too: tighter panel gaps, smoother surfacing, and better-integrated details like mirrors and LED lighting.
Modest Power, Practical Range
You’re not buying the Microlino for speed—and that’s exactly the point. A small rear-mounted motor makes 17 hp, which is enough for a top speed of 90 km/h. It’s ideal for city driving, where acceleration from stoplights matters more than 0–100 stats.
What’s more interesting is the range. Micro offers three battery packs:
-
6 kWh for 95 km
-
10.5 kWh for 177 km
-
14 kWh for up to 230 km
That’s more than enough for daily errands, commutes, and weekend cruising. Charging is done via a standard household plug, keeping the whole experience refreshingly simple.
A Cabin That’s Minimal, But Not Bare
Inside, the Microlino keeps things clean. There’s a bench seat—roomy enough for two adults—and a generous glass roof that makes the small interior feel open. A single center screen handles speed, battery status, and basic info. There’s no clutter, just thoughtful design.
Storage? You’ve got room for a couple of cabin bags behind the seat—plenty for groceries, gym gear, or a weekend bag. It’s not spacious in the traditional sense, but it uses space smartly.
No Real Rivals, and That’s the Charm
The Microlino floats in a category of its own. Too small to rival compact EVs like the Dacia Spring, and too smartly packaged to be lumped in with scooters or quadricycles. It’s more practical than a Citroën Ami, and frankly, more fun to look at.
It’s especially well suited to cities like Stockholm or Gothenburg, where space is tight and regulations favor low-emission vehicles. It’s not flashy, but it makes you smile—and that counts for something in a segment filled with sameness.
Now Available in Sweden
Micro has confirmed that Swedish customers can order the Microlino now, with deliveries expected to begin in Q4 2025. Trims range from basic to luxe, with four styles and plenty of personalization options.
Production is finally scaling at the brand’s plant in Italy, which should help reduce wait times as interest grows across Europe. No word yet on broader global expansion, but for now, Swedish cities just got a lot more interesting.
