A Grand Tourer Meets a Utility Vehicle
Karma isn’t following the crowd with the 2025 Ivara Concept. Instead, it’s carving a lane of its own — something it’s calling a GT-UV, short for Grand Touring Utility Vehicle. Basically, think the elegance of a coupe fused with the function of an SUV.
From the first press shots, the Ivara looks like a clean break from Karma’s past silhouettes. No grille. Just a low, confident nose that stretches clean into the raked windshield. It reads sporty but refined — more Monaco beach club than Baja trail.
Styling That Stands Out Without Screaming
The design team clearly had fun here. Karma calls it the “Comet Line” — a sort of fluid character stroke that runs the length of the car. Surfaces are sleek, bodywork tight. And there’s a tech flourish too: the matte exterior is self-healing, using microscopic segmentation to minimize scratches over time.
It’s gimmicky, maybe. But also clever. A car like this should look sharp even after a few careless parking garage brushes.
Two Powertrains, Same Intent
The Ivara will launch in two versions — one fully electric, the other a range-extended hybrid. Karma hasn’t dropped hard specs yet, but the approach is clear: give buyers flexibility without sacrificing the luxury EV vibe.
That plug-in hybrid variant uses a gas engine as a generator — keeping the wheels driven by electric motors but adding distance when needed. Ideal for folks who love EV torque but aren’t sold on charging infrastructure just yet.
Inside: Sleek, Simplified, and Luxe
Karma hasn’t shared everything about the cabin, but we’ve seen a few interior shots. Slim headrests, a flattened steering wheel, and a panoramic roof headline the look.
The color scheme is a deep, rich brown — a bit of a throwback luxury tone, but fitting. No clutter, no overload of screens or piano black trim. Just clean lines and what looks like a proper high-end finish.
Aimed at a Premium, Electric Future
The Ivara isn’t a one-off. It’s part of Karma’s future product roadmap, alongside the Gyesera sedan and Kaveya coupe. If production follows the timeline hinted at in recent releases, we could see the Ivara on roads by 2027.
That would place it up against the likes of the Polestar 3, Lotus Eletre, and Audi Q8 e-tron — all chasing that premium EV SUV market. But Karma’s positioning here is a little different. Less mass-market, more design-first with a hint of exclusivity.
It’s still a concept. But the 2025 Karma Ivara feels more grounded than most vaporware SUVs. It’s interesting, elegant, and might just give the segment something genuinely different.
