2025 BMW M135 xDrive F40 South African Version

By Team Dailyrevs

  • The 2025 BMW M135 xDrive delivers 300 hp from a 2.0L turbocharged engine, achieving 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

  • Features include adaptive M suspension, xDrive all-wheel drive, and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

  • Interior highlights a 10.7-inch curved display and M Sport seats with Veganza/Alcantara upholstery.

Looks Sharper, Sits Lower, Drives Meaner

The new BMW M135 xDrive has that confident stance you'd expect. Wide-set, purposeful, with just the right amount of menace. The frameless kidney grille — done up in gloss black with horizontal bars — looks cleaner now, more cohesive. It's flanked by slim LED headlights and flared intakes that aren’t just for show.

At the rear, quad exhaust tips tucked under a subtle diffuser remind you this thing has bite. The rear spoiler is more functional flourish than oversized statement — and it works. At 4,361 mm long and just under 1.46 meters tall, it’s compact but muscular.

Cockpit Priorities: Driver First, Fuss Last

BMW’s gone light on physical buttons in the M135 xDrive, but the layout still feels driver-focused. The twin-screen curved display setup houses a 10.25-inch gauge cluster and a 10.7-inch central touchscreen — clean, bright, and now running BMW Operating System 9.

The new gear toggle is small but intuitive, and the cabin’s finished in Alcantara and Veganza trim. The M Sport seats look aggressive but don’t punish you on longer drives — bolstered where it counts, supportive without being stiff. And yes, it still feels like a BMW inside: tight, tailored, subtly upscale.

The Hardware: Turbo Four and a Bit of Bite

Under the hood, the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four is tuned for 300 hp and 400 Nm. That gets you from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox shifts quickly enough to keep things interesting, while xDrive AWD gives the car confidence through corners and on wet pavement.

It's not raw like some rear-wheel drive M cars — it's more controlled, composed. But toss it into a bend and it’ll still rotate with the throttle. There’s balance here, aided by the adaptive M suspension and a recalibrated chassis.

Where It Lands

The M135 xDrive sits in a hotly contested space. You’ve got the AMG A35, Audi S3, and Golf R circling this same track. But the BMW leans on its driving feel and upscale interior to carve a space of its own. It's for someone who wants a quick daily with all-weather grip, clean aesthetics, and just enough drama under the right foot.
