Powertrain and Performance: Big Numbers, Small Package
ABT didn’t hold back with the 2025 RS3-R. The numbers tell part of the story—510 horsepower (375 kW), 600 Nm of torque, and 0–100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. That’s quick. Really quick.
Under the hood is the familiar 2.5-liter inline-five, but with ABT’s Power R upgrade, it breathes harder and pulls longer. The difference is noticeable, especially when you’re gunning it from a standstill or overtaking with intent.
Backing up the power is a suspension setup tuned to handle it. ABT’s sport springs and anti-roll bars work with the stock RS3’s chassis to keep things tight without wrecking ride comfort. It’s still usable on the street—but definitely sharper around corners.
Visual Punch: Carbon Where It Counts
From a distance, the RS3-R doesn’t scream for attention, but once it’s up close, it starts checking all the boxes. The aero kit—made entirely of glossy carbon fiber—is tasteful but aggressive. You get a deeper front lip, flics on the corners, revised mirror caps, and a reworked rear skirt. The Sportback variant adds a spoiler out back that actually looks functional.
The 20-inch forged HR20 wheels fill the arches nicely, wrapped in 245-section rubber. They're not just for show—lighter wheels mean better handling, and less unsprung mass never hurts.
It’s a stance that looks ready for the Nürburgring, even if it’s headed to a morning coffee run.
Inside the Cabin: Subtle, But Special
The interior follows the same formula—refined, but with enough RS3-R identity to feel different. The seats are reworked and stitched with ABT and RS3-R branding. You’ll see the “1 of 125” emblem on the door sills, and there are a few custom touches like floor mats and an ABT start/stop button.
No touchscreen gimmicks, no weird add-ons—just clean, driver-focused upgrades that remind you this isn’t a stock RS3.
Where It Fits: A Proper Limited-Run Hatch
Performance hatches are a niche, but a fierce one. Cars like the Mercedes-AMG A45 S and BMW M2 are obvious rivals, though the RS3-R keeps its own identity with all-wheel drive and that signature five-cylinder growl.
What really separates it? Exclusivity. ABT’s only making 125 of these, and the whole package—including assembly and TÜV approval—will run you around €45,000 on top of the base car. It’s not cheap, but it’s not supposed to be.
