About the Car

2024 Opel Movano

The new Opel Movano is ready to face the heavy tasks of working life that await it. With its wide range of bodies, a loading volume of up to 17 m3 and a payload of 2 tonnes, the Blitz brand's largest light utility vehicle (LCV) is still as impressive as ever. But if the new Movano retains all its leading qualities in its category, it adds new ones, such as advanced driver assistance systems which allow for the first time level 2 autonomous driving. Above all, with the new Movano Electric, Opel continues its electrification strategy, bringing even higher power and greater autonomy. The new electric utility vehicle is powered by a particularly powerful motor with 200 kW/270 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Thanks to its new 110 kWh battery, the new Movano Electric can travel up to 420 kilometers (WLTP standard), making it a competent and reliable partner even on long journeys. Additional versatility comes from the new 230 V socket located on the dashboard which allows you to power or recharge electrical equipment.

In the cabin, the emphasis is placed on connectivity, ergonomics and comfort. The redesigned driving position offers infotainment systems with up to 10” color touchscreens. Wireless smartphone charging is also available, as is keyless entry and start. The versatile “Eat & Work” bench (later available as an option) can also be used as a work surface. And in terms of design, the Movano underlines its membership in the Opel family via a rejuvenated style incorporating the brand's typical design at the front as well as optional LED headlights.

The new Opel Movano is available to order in France from €55,400 excluding tax for Electric and €33,400 excluding tax for Diesel (see attached price list).

New Movano Electric: range of up to 420 km and 150 kW fast charging

The new Opel Movano offers a powertrain tailored to every user profile. The Movano Electric sets new standards in terms of motor and battery. While the electric motor of the previous Movano had an output of 90 kW/122 hp, the new engine now offers 200 kW/270 hp. The maximum torque available from start-up increases from 260 to 400 Nm, which means that the Movano Electric can accelerate strongly from start-up, even under full load. It reaches a maximum speed of 130 km/h. The old 37 and 70 kWh batteries have been replaced by a 110 kWh battery which allows a range of 420 km (according to the WLTP standard). Movano Electric drivers can therefore travel up to 170 km more than before on a single charge.

Three driving modes are available to make the most of performance and range: "Normal" (limited to 160 kW of power), "Eco" to optimize range (120 kW) and "Power" for maximum performance ( 200 kW). The driver can also adjust four levels of braking recuperation using the paddles behind the steering wheel.

The new Movano Electric is equipped as standard with an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger for AC charging. It is also the first Opel to offer the possibility of charging up to 150 kW with direct current. At a public fast charging station, it only takes 55 minutes to reach 80%.

The new 230 V power socket offered as an option provides additional practicality. It easily charges electrical devices such as laptops, power tool batteries, tablets and other low-power devices that require electricity up to 150 watts. The socket is placed in the middle of the dashboard, making it easier to access for front seat occupants.

A top choice: electric, hydrogen fuel cell or Diesel

The new Opel Movano also plays a pioneering role with another drive alternative: in 2024, Opel's largest LCV will be available (in some markets) for the first time in a HYDROGEN version for those who have to travel long distances without emissions and refuel quickly. This innovative fuel cell vehicle will offer a range of up to 400 km (WLTP standard) and can refuel with hydrogen in just around five minutes.

A range of three high-efficiency turbodiesel engines completes the offering. These engines offer outputs of 88 kW/120 hp, 103 kW/140 hp or 132 kW/180 hp and, depending on the output, can be combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the aerodynamic improvements made to the bodywork, these powertrains allow a reduction in consumption of 9% compared to previous versions, which makes the Movano a leading player in terms of energy efficiency and CO 2 emissions .

Pioneer: new assistance systems for level 2 autonomous driving

The new Movano is also a pioneer with its numerous driver assistance systems. Electric steering automatically adapts assistance to vehicle speed for optimized driving comfort at higher speeds and more comfortable city maneuvers. The electric parking brake is activated via a switch located on the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel.

In addition to traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning with emergency braking and side blind spot warning, there are now new systems such as drowsiness warning, assist lane keeping, adaptive cruise control with "Stop & Go" function, 360-degree parking sensors, parking assistance and a digital interior rearview mirror which further improves all-round visibility. A total of 22 assistance systems and electronic aids are available to facilitate driving and maneuvering.

The combination of adaptive cruise control with "Stop & Go" function, lane keeping assist and traffic jam assist allows the Movano to steer, brake and accelerate on its own up to a speed of 30 km/h - for example in slow-moving traffic - provided that the driver keeps his hands on the steering wheel. This means that Level 2 autonomous driving is available on the new Movano for the first time.

Connected, organized and practical: this is the new ultra-modern cockpit of the Movano

Movano drivers can now work in a completely new environment that is ultra-modern, versatile and comfortable. The cockpit of Opel's largest utility vehicle has been completely redesigned, making it more ergonomic and, above all, more connected. As an option, the most important information can be displayed on a fully digital and configurable 7'' color instrumentation screen located in front of the driver. The 3D map of the navigation system can also be displayed there.

The new infotainment and navigation system can be easily operated via the 10'' color touchscreen located in the center of the center console. Compatible smartphones connect wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 3D navigation maps come from TomTom®. The most important functions can be controlled using natural voice recognition. Particularly practical for delivery services and professionals who often need to use a mobile phone, a slot located in the center console allows smartphones to be recharged by induction.

Versatility is one of the strong points of the new Movano, not only because it is offered in a wide variety of versions but also in terms of interior design possibilities. The optional “Eat & Work” bench seat transforms the driving position into an ergonomic control center. With a few simple movements, the seat next to the driver can be transformed into a practical mobile work surface, for example to place a laptop, thus transforming the Movano into a mobile office. The seat can also be transformed into a small table with cup holder. Thanks to the keyless entry and starting system ("Keyless Entry & Go"), the driver no longer even needs to take out the key to access the Movano or start it.

Ready for everything: an unrivaled variety of body types

The new Movano also scores points thanks to its wide range of body styles. Four lengths, three wheelbases and three heights, as well as van, chassis cab, double cab, flatbed and tipper versions allow countless configuration possibilities. At the same time, Opel's largest LCV makes no compromises in terms of payload or cargo volume. The Movano can transport up to 1500 kg of payload in the Electric version and 2 tonnes in Diesel. Thanks to the convenient location of the battery under the body, the loading volume, which can reach 17 m3, is fully preserved. The Movano Electric finally lends itself to numerous transformations.
