2024 BMW XM Alcantara
By Team Dailyrevs July 31, 2024
The Quadrilatero della moda in Milan provided the perfect setting for presenting the "Sky is the limit" project, a collaboration between BMW Italia and Alcantara. This one-off creation is based on BMW M GmbH's first high-performance sports car powered by an M HYBRID engine. The project draws on the dynamic and exclusive values of both brands, contrasting the black and white colors of the Italian-made material.
- The "Sky is the Limit" project, a collaboration between BMW Italia and Alcantara, debuted in Milan’s Quadrilatero della moda.
- The BMW XM, a high-performance sports car with an M HYBRID engine, is the foundation for this project.
- Alcantara is used extensively on both the interior and exterior of the BMW XM, including the M Lounge in the back.
- The exterior features Alcantara black with a matte effect, contrasted by glossy black inserts and geometric shapes inspired by the BMW XM design.
- The front cockpit is covered in black Alcantara, highlighting the car's dynamism and sportiness.
- Rear seats feature ice white Alcantara, creating a luxurious and exclusive environment similar to an elegant living room.
- The roof pavilion, made of ice white Alcantara with a digital gradient effect, enhances the color contrast within the car.
- The BMW XM combines luxury, high performance, and electrification, being the first high-performance model since the BMW M1.
- Exterior design elements include divided optical groups, Iconic Glow contour lighting, and vertically stacked hexagonal exhaust terminals.
- The M HYBRID system, available with a powerful inline six-cylinder or V8 gasoline engine, makes the BMW XM Label Red the most powerful series car produced by BMW M GmbH.
Creative Collaboration
In this project, the BMW XM combines aesthetics and performance with the excellence of Italian tradition. Alcantara is used extensively for both the interior and exterior, including the M Lounge in the back. This use of Alcantara is unconventional, especially on the car's exterior, where it provides a matte effect contrasted with glossy black inserts. The surfaces are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, inspired by the geometric shapes of the BMW XM, adding visual richness to the car's exterior.
