Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) takes great pride in introducing several minor enhancements to the popular people carrier, the 2023 Toyota Rumion. These updates primarily focus on passenger safety, convenience features, and exterior styling. While immediate upgrades are available for the S and SX models, the range-topping TX variant will receive its changes in August 2023.
Exterior Styling: A Poised and Prominent Look
From a design perspective, the refreshed 2023 Toyota Rumion now showcases a larger black mesh grille, exuding a poised and slightly prominent appearance. This update adds a touch of sophistication to the car's overall aesthetic.
Enhanced Safety Features for S Grade
The S Grade of the Rumion receives notable safety enhancements to provide occupants with peace of mind. The adoption of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), seatbelt warning systems, and rear parking sensors ensure a safer driving experience.
Convenience Features for S Grade and SX Models
To enhance convenience, the S Grade offers a height-adjustable front seatbelt and a seat recliner for the third row. Meanwhile, the SX models come equipped with additional features for a more comfortable and enjoyable ride. These include a display audio system, reverse camera, cruise control, and a front center console armrest. The SX AT variant is further enhanced with Hill Assist Control.

While the upgrades bring improvements, the 2023 Toyota Rumion retains its four-cylinder petrol engine, accommodating a seven-seater layout and boasting good ground clearance. Car enthusiasts can choose from a range of seven exterior colors, such as Mystic Pearl White, Premier Liquid Silver, Azure Blue, Seal Grey Metallic, Autumn Blaze Red, Cedar Brown, and Shadow Black Pearl.

Depending on the grade, customers can opt for either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Remarkably, both transmission types boast a fuel consumption figure of 6.2 l/100 km. CO2 emissions are measured at 146 g/km and 147 g/km, while the top speed reaches 175 km/h for the manual and 170 km/h for the automatic.
