The new BMW 7 Series was designed from the ground up for particularly demanding target groups in a globalized automobile market. This is also reflected in a market-specific drive portfolio with exclusive offers for China as the most important sales region and a diesel model for Europe.
The new generation of luxury sedans from BMW opens up a new dimension in terms of room comfort. Unlike its predecessors, the new BMW 7 Series is only available worldwide in a body variant with a long wheelbase, which guarantees maximum comfort in the rear. Different facets of its character are defined by specific design features and drive variants. The range of the new BMW 7 Series also includes models from the BMW i and BMW M brands, which can be used to intensively emphasize their diverse characteristics, from elegant, modern and sustainable to expressive, sporty and dynamic.
Combustion engines, plug-in hybrid systems and all-electric drives are available for the first time for the new BMW 7 Series. The variety in the drive portfolio is based on a newly developed flexible vehicle architecture and is an expression of a globally oriented supply strategy for the new edition of the BMW 7 Series. In this way, the BMW Group takes into account individual customer needs, infrastructure conditions and legal regulations in all relevant automotive markets around the world. Plug-in hybrid models of the new BMW 7 Series are expected to follow in numerous markets at the beginning of 2023. This also includes the first BMW M automobile with an in-line six-cylinder petrol engine and plug-in hybrid drive. In addition, the range in Europe will be supplemented by a model variant with a diesel engine and 48-volt mild hybrid technology immediately after the market launch. Other model variants of the all-electric BMW i7, including the future top model BMW i7 M70 xDrive, will also be available at a later date.

Like all their predecessors, the models of the new BMW 7 Series are produced at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing.
