2023 Bentley Continental GT 20th Anniversary Edition

As Bentley celebrates 20 years of its iconic Continental GT, the brand has unveiled the 2023 Bentley Continental GT 20th Anniversary Edition, marking the occasion with a range of distinctive design features and events. The launch kicked off at the Shanghai Auto Show, showcasing a unique one-off Continental GT S with several bespoke Mulliner features.

Design and Special Features

The Anniversary Edition’s exterior is finished in a menacing Magnetic dark grey metallic, accompanied by black chrome and black 22” 10-spoke sports wheels, with a touch of color provided by red brake calipers. The black-and-red theme continues inside, with a duo-tone finish in Beluga and Hotspur leather and Piano Black accents.

The interiors boast a bespoke Mulliner colorway, dual-finish fascias, waistrails, and custom details on the center console and treadplates. The upper fascia veneer features a tactile Granite Stone finish, while the lower veneer is presented in Grand Black with a laser-etched overlay, commemorating the 20-year milestone. A red pinstripe separates the two finishes, extending across the fascia and passing through the upper vanes of the bullseye air vents.

The treadplates display silhouettes of the 1st and 3rd generation Continental GTs, symbolizing the 20-year journey of this modern grand tourer. The LED welcome lamp in the door also highlights the anniversary with a unique design.

Celebrating the Quintessential Grand Tourer

Since its introduction in 2003 as the first all-new Bentley of the modern era, the Continental GT has become synonymous with luxury, innovation, and performance. With no comparable rivals at its price point, it swiftly defined a new market sector and propelled Bentley to its current status as one of the most sought-after luxury car brands.

Continental GT models have continued to garner awards and accolades, with the latest generation capturing the 2023 Robb Report Car of the Year title and back-to-back wins at the Auto Motor und Sport awards.

Commemorative Events and Drive Hubs

To mark the anniversary, Bentley has organized a series of events, including two drive hubs in Crewe and Geneva, where first- and second-generation Continental GTs will be available to drive alongside the latest models.

A Bentley ‘baton’ will embark on a global journey, visiting Europe, the Middle East, China, Asia Pacific, and the US before returning to Crewe. The baton, carrying 20 mementoes from the tour, will be transformed into a time capsule, preserving memories of this unique celebration.

A Double Anniversary

The Continental GT’s 20th birthday also marks two decades of Bentley’s powerful 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine. With production slated to end in April 2024, the remaining 12 months of W12 assembly will be celebrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where a moving showcase of W12-powered cars from the last 20 years will culminate with the new Bentley Batur by Mulliner.

A Tribute to the Original

The first-ever Continental GT, VIN number 20001, finished in Cypress Green with a Saddle hide and Burr Walnut interior, remains in Bentley’s possession as a significant milestone in the Heritage Collection’s garage. The 2023 Bentley Continental GT 20th Anniversary Edition is a fitting tribute to this iconic model, embodying the spirit of luxury, performance, and innovation that has defined Bentley for the past 20 years.
