A High-Tech Mega Power Frunk
The F-150 Lightning features a versatile and spacious front trunk, or “frunk,” that’s secure, lockable, and easily accessible. With 400 liters of volume and a 400-pound payload capacity, it can accommodate items like luggage or golf clubs. The frunk is designed with bumper-height clearance, is water-resistant, and includes four electrical outlets, two USB chargers, and a drainable floor suitable for food and beverage storage. With 2.4 kilowatts of power, it can support tools, TVs, laptops, speakers, and more, making it ideal for tailgating or a mobile work site.
Built Ford Tough
The F-150 Lightning undergoes rigorous Built Ford Tough testing, with a military-grade aluminum alloy body and an upgraded frame that supports the advanced battery. The first F-Series independent rear suspension and low center of gravity help improve ride stability and reduce steering roll. The truck is designed for off-road performance, with a 4×4 system featuring four selectable drive modes: Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Tow/Haul.
The battery is protected by metal skid plates, waterproof casing, and crash-absorption materials, and has been tested in extreme temperatures to ensure reliability. The F-150 Lightning also includes a state-of-the-art liquid cooling system and powertrain layout that manages heat distribution across the vehicle, allowing it to perform under the toughest conditions.
The F-150 Lightning is a testament to Ford’s commitment to innovation and durability, redefining what it means to be a Built Ford Tough truck.
Going Electric, Made Easy
Ford provides an 80-amp charge station as standard equipment for easy home charging of the F-150 Lightning. The dual onboard charging system enables faster charging, adding an average range of 30 miles per charging hour and fully charging an extended-range truck from 15% to 100% in about eight hours. On a 150-kilowatt DC fast charger, the F-150 Lightning can achieve up to 54 miles of range in 10 minutes and charge from 15% to 80% in about 41 minutes.
FordPass provides seamless access to North America’s largest public charging network, with over 63,000 charging plugs. FordPass Power My Trip helps plan charging routes, while Intelligent Range calculates accurate range based on various factors. SYNC 4’s cloud-connected navigation identifies public charging locations and prompts owners to charge at convenient points.
Distinctive, High-Tech Design
The F-150 Lightning combines the toughness of F-Series trucks with modern, high-tech design elements like signature LED lightbars, three new grille designs, and improved aerodynamics. Features like 360-degree Zone Lighting, fold-out Interior Work Surface, and Max Recline Seats enhance functionality and comfort. The truck maintains the same cab and bed dimensions as its gas counterpart, accommodating thousands of existing accessories.
