The mystery is over. In an unprecedented strategy in the national automotive industry, Fiat engaged thousands of people in an unusual way in an open vote – started in the final of Big Brother Brasil (4/5) – to choose the name of its new SUV, also unveiled on the last day of reality. With a survey on the exclusive digital platform suv.fiat.com.br, three options were presented: Fiat Pulse, Fiat Domo and Fiat Tuo. Soon the matter took over the social networks, marking the success of the initiative by counting more than 380 thousand votes.
This Wednesday, Fiat held a Live with Herlander Zola, director of Brand Fiat South America and Commercial Operations Brazil, who announced the name that the public chose for the brand’s new SUV: Fiat Pulse, an immediate reference to the characteristic of the new national SUV.
“Pulse is a fantastic name that allows for countless associations. It has energy, movement and is extremely connected. It expresses the essence and personality of the vehicle: an SUV with Fiat’s soul, but which, at the same time, has its own touch, beat and rhythm”, stated Zola.
In fact, Pulse won over the audience immediately. Since the alternatives were presented in the poll, it was the name that quickly leapt to the fore, reflecting an overwhelming vote, with a preference of 65% of the votes. Domo got 25% and Tuo got 10%.
Fiat 363 project and exclusive digital platform
Fiat opened the doors of its factory, at Polo Automotivo de Betim (MG), to present to the public some of the stages of development of the new SUV, until then named Progetto 363.
To do this, it created five a webseries with five episodes, broadcast on the suv.fiat.com.br platform, which brought many details of the vehicle. In each chapter, guests and experts working on the project presented the pillars on which Fiat’s new SUV was created: Design, Safety + Robustness, Connectivity and Performance. And internet users were able to choose content they would like to “unlock” to learn more about the model, such as new wheels and steering wheel, driving aids, the new turbo flex engine and also Fiat Connect////Me connected services.
The platform had more than one million hits and has received, so far, 55 thousand entries. On social networks, the numbers are also impressive, more than 830,000 people have already been impacted by the action and the brand has reached 550,000 mentions.

“Since the beginning of March, that is, in parallel with the BBB and actions on social networks, the platform was the means by which we shared information about the Fiat Pulse, and it will be there that we will continue this story”, concluded Zola.
Big Brother Brasil
In addition to the actions conveyed by the Progetto 363 digital platform, Fiat created many activations at Big Brother Brasil, bringing the public even closer to what is the most anticipated launch of the year.
“Our partnership with BBB has always been bold, impactful and memorable. In ‘Big of the Bigs’ it couldn’t be different. Therefore, we present Fiat’s new SUV using the program and the interaction of people. Especially, during the choice of the name, in addition to an unprecedented initiative, it reinforces how close Fiat is to Brazilians: whether it’s getting inspired to make this model, or inviting people to know the process – inside our house – and even engaging the public to name the SUV”, says Malu Antonio, Marketing and Communication Manager at Stellantis for Latin America.
Throughout the BBB, both participants and the audience were surprised with a series of actions to get to know the brand’s new SUV. Fiat bet on interactivity, reinforcing the concept that people and their opinions were always present in the development of the model.
The action created in partnership with Leo Burnett Tailor Made agency brought several tests and product placements, showing some stages of the development of the new SUV and inviting viewers to learn more about each characteristic of what was until then a secret car.

Party of colors, resistance test, game of discord and even in the final of the reality show. In a 360º strategy, the finalists were surprised by the appearance of the SUV in the most guarded house in the country, and there they got to know up close the vehicle that the winner of the edition took home. In addition, Fiuk, Juliette and Camilla started voting to choose the name of the SUV.
