BYD Dolphin is positioned as a small car. Although its length, width and height are respectively 4070 (4125/4150)/1770/1570mm, its wheelbase has reached 2700mm, which has a greater advantage in many small cars. Different from BYD’s “Dragon Face” family-style design language, the car adopts a new design concept of “ocean aesthetics”.

The BYD Dolphin uses a lot of soft curves in the car, like ocean waves, and it is very different from BYD’s existing models, but the car still retains the 12.8-inch rotatable center control screen, and the car’s functionality is guaranteed. In addition, parts such as the air conditioning control area, the front central passage, and the air conditioning outlet are all curved designs, which look very cute.

In terms of power, BYD Dolphin is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 70kW and a peak torque of 180N·m; the high-performance version of the drive motor has a maximum power of 130kW and a peak torque of 290N·m. In terms of endurance, depending on the model version, the new car is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate blade battery with a capacity of 30.7kWh and 44.9kWh. NEDC has an optional range of 301km, 401km and 405km.

The Dolphin is the first model of BYD’s “Ocean Family” and also the first model to use BYD’s new Logo and BYD e-platform 3.0. In addition, BYD “Ocean Family” will focus on building pure electric models in the future, which will cover a variety of model levels and types, and will also launch models such as Seagulls, Seals, and Sea Lions in the future.
