About the Car

2019 Brabus 850 6-0 Biturbo 4X4 Final Edition

Brabus knows how to customize the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and it says farewell to the previous generation of the rugged SUV by unveiling the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo 4×4² Final Edition 1 of 5. The limited-run model costs 482,000 euros, which includes 19 percent VAT in Germany, ($546,226.50 at current exchange rates) and premieres at the Geneva Motor Show.

Using the previous-gen G63 as a starting point, Brabus takes the model’s 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 then bores and strokes the mill so that the powerplant now displaces 6.0 liters. There are also bigger turbos and a larger diameter intake for getting plenty of cool air into the engine. Gold heat reflection material covers some of the piping for also keeping temperatures down. An exhaust with variable flaps lets drivers alter the sound out of the popes.

After these tweaks, the Brabus-tuned G-Class produces 838 horsepower (625 kilowatts) and a stump-pulling 1,069 pound-feet (1,450 Newton-meters) of torque. The output lets the SUV reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 4.7 seconds. The off-road tires force an electronic limit on the top speed to 131 mph (210 kph).

For handling rugged terrain, Brabus gives this G-Class portal axles that contribute to the SUV’s 23.62 inches (60 centimeters) of ground clearance. Revised dampers help the off-road work, too. Front and rear skid plates protect the vital components.

Aesthetically, the Brabus 850 G-Class wears an aggressive body kit that includes a naked carbon hood scoop. Big fender flares cover the 22-inch wheels with Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires. An LED light bar stretches across the roof

Brabus dresses the cabin of this SUV in a mix of black and blue leather. The rear bucket seats have power adjustment, memory, ventilation, and cooling. The firm also fits a 4.3-inch touchpad into the top of the center console for allowing occupants in the rear to adjust their chairs and tweak the HVAC settings. There are heated and cooled cup holders for them, too.
