2028 Aston Martin Valhalla Spider

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The Aston Martin Valhalla Spider produces 1,079 PS and 1,100 Nm from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and three electric motors.

  • The mid-engined supercar can reach 350 km/h with its roof removed or with the carbon-fibre hardtop fitted, while revised aerodynamics deliver more than 600 kg of downforce.

  • A removable roof, redesigned wind deflector, frameless dihedral doors and new carbon-fibre Touring Seats distinguish the Spider from the Coupe.

Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Introduces Open Cockpit Design

Aston Martin has revealed the 2028 Aston Martin Valhalla Spider, an open-cockpit version of its mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar.

Announced on October 28, 2026, the Spider follows the Valhalla Coupe while retaining its hybrid drivetrain, carbon-fibre structure and active aerodynamic systems.

The car will make its public debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Removable Roof and Revised Airflow Management

The Valhalla Spider preserves the Coupe's exterior profile, with changes concentrated around the cockpit and roof assembly.

A removable black fabric roof is standard outside the United States, while American-market cars receive a carbon-fibre hardtop.

With the fabric roof installed, maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h. The hardtop allows 350 km/h, a figure also achievable with the roof completely removed.

A revised wind deflector redirects airflow over the occupants while feeding the roof-mounted engine intake.

The intake snorkel has been reshaped and raised by 35 mm to suit the open configuration.

Carbon Fibre Structure and Mid Engine Proportions

The Valhalla Spider retains a low, wide silhouette measuring 4,728 mm long and 1,233 mm high, with a 2,760 mm wheelbase.

Its carbon-fibre monocoque incorporates aluminium front and rear subframes, while carbon-fibre body panels maintain the Coupe's lightweight construction approach.

The signature dihedral doors now feature frameless glass and revised opening mechanisms.

Active aerodynamic elements at both ends manage airflow and downforce, exceeding 600 kg with the roof installed.

Carbon Fibre Seats and Driver Focused Interior

Inside, the Valhalla Spider introduces standard carbon-fibre Touring Seats designed to improve comfort and access.

Customers can alternatively retain the Coupe's original carbon-fibre seats at no additional cost.

Alcantara upholstery, exposed carbon-fibre trim and dark chrome controls define the standard cabin specification.

Apple CarPlay is included, while alternative leather finishes, contrast stitching and decorative carbon-fibre treatments are available.

Twin Turbo V8 and Three Electric Motors

The Valhalla Spider uses a bespoke flat-plane-crank 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 828 PS.

Three electric motors contribute another 251 PS, bringing combined output to 1,079 PS and 1,100 Nm.

Two motors power the front axle, providing electric torque vectoring, while the third assists the V8 through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Aston Martin predicts 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

Road and Track Technology

The suspension combines front pushrod double wishbones with a rear multi-link arrangement and adaptive dampers.

Carbon-ceramic brakes accompany 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

Four driving modes adjust powertrain and chassis responses, including an electric-only setting.

The roof deflector folds into three sections for storage in dedicated 15-litre sill compartments.
