2027 Toyota GR Yaris Ogier
By Lorenzo Bianchi January 23, 2026
The GR Yaris Ogier Edition celebrates Sébastien Ogier’s ninth World Rally Championship title with a 200-unit global run.
Two bespoke all-wheel-drive modes, SEB and MORIZO, are developed directly with Ogier and Toyota.
Design changes focus on rally function and identity rather than cosmetic excess.
A Title Winning GR Yaris With Direct Input
Toyota Gazoo Racing chose the opening round of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship, Rallye Monte-Carlo, to present the GR Yaris Sébastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition. The timing is deliberate. The limited-run model pays tribute to Ogier’s 2025 World Drivers’ Championship, secured after a season that went down to the final round in Saudi Arabia. Ogier competed in 11 events, claimed six wins, and finished on the podium ten times, equalling the all-time record with his ninth world title.
Limited Production With Clear Intent
This special edition is limited to 200 units worldwide, with 100 reserved for the European market. A prototype was first shown in Monaco on January 22, ahead of Ogier’s eleventh start at Rallye Monte-Carlo, itself a record. Toyota positions the car as both a celebration of recent success and a gesture of appreciation toward fans of the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team.
AWD Calibration Inspired by Rally Stages
At the core of the Ogier Edition are two newly developed all-wheel-drive control modes, created with direct input from the driver himself. The SEB mode replaces the standard TRACK setting, adopting a 40:60 front-to-rear torque distribution. The emphasis adjusts the balance in favor of rear-wheel drive while maintaining front-end stability, reflecting Ogier's penchant for rotation and accuracy.
The GRAVEL mode is replaced by the second setting, MORIZO mode, which emphasizes control and performance through corners. Under acceleration, front and rear locking is active, while braking sees reduced locking force when required. These settings reflect the development philosophy of Toyota Motor Corporation president Akio Toyoda, known in motorsport circles as Morizo, and were refined through Ogier’s rally experience.
Competition-Based External Identity
The GR Yaris Ogier Edition has a more deliberate aesthetic. The special Black Gravite body color, which was previously associated with Toyota's 2025 motorsport aspirations, is complemented by matt black wheels.
The radiator grille has a subtle tricolor accent inspired by the French flag, and the blue brake calipers behind the rims are finished in Ogier's signature color.
Additional external identifiers include a MORIZO graphic on the front windscreen, a dedicated rear emblem, and unique vinyl graphics on the lower doors and rear fenders. Without changing the car's basic dimensions, each component strengthens its connection to rally competition.
Function-Driven Interior Details
The modifications inside adhere to the same functional logic. Inspired by the GR Yaris Rally2, the red, blue, and grey stitching extends the French tricolor theme to a smaller-diameter steering wheel with updated control placement. The digital instrument display has unique graphics for the SEB and MORIZO modes, and the vertical handbrake has a unique leather handle with grey stitching. A numbered nameplate commemorates Ogier’s championship record.
Positioning Within the GR Lineup
The GR Yaris Ogier Edition forms the basis for the forthcoming GR Yaris Aero Performance variant and stands as a direct expression of Toyota’s rally philosophy translated to the road. It is not presented as a styling exercise, but as a focused evolution shaped by championship-winning experience from Toyota Gazoo Racing.
