2027 Skoda Epiq

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2027 Skoda Epiq becomes Skoda’s new entry-level electric vehicle.

  • It introduces the production debut of Skoda’s Modern Solid design language.

  • The compact crossover offers up to 440 km of range and a 475-litre luggage compartment.

Skoda’s Smallest EV Takes A Different Approach

The 2027 Skoda Epiq arrives with a fairly clear mission. It is not trying to be the fastest electric crossover or the most futuristic one. Instead, Skoda appears focused on building an EV that feels usable, reasonably priced, and easy to live with every day.

Positioned below the Enyaq and Elroq, the Epiq becomes the Czech brand’s most affordable electric model and effectively replaces the idea that entry-level EVs must feel stripped back or compromised.

Skoda says the base Epiq reaches price parity with the combustion-powered Kamiq in several markets, which could make it one of the more important launches in the company’s expanding electric portfolio.

The compact crossover also marks the first full production application of the brand’s Modern Solid design language.

Compact Dimensions With A Cleaner Look

Visually, the Epiq looks noticeably cleaner and more upright than recent Skoda SUVs.

The front end replaces the traditional grille treatment with what the company calls the “Tech-Deck Face,” finished in gloss black and paired with a new T-shaped lighting signature that will likely appear on future Skoda SUVs as well.

There is less visual clutter overall. The surfaces are flatter, the panel detailing is tighter, and the crossover proportions lean toward practicality rather than sportiness.

Even so, the Epiq does not look awkwardly utilitarian. The short overhangs and relatively tall roofline give it a confident stance without trying too hard to appear aggressive.

Aerodynamics were clearly part of the design process too, with Skoda quoting a drag coefficient of 0.275. That is respectable for a compact urban crossover with a fairly upright profile.

Interior Space Seems To Be The Priority

Inside, the Epiq follows the same philosophy as the exterior.

The dashboard layout is intentionally simple, with durable materials and straightforward controls replacing oversized decorative elements. A 13-inch central infotainment display anchors the cabin and runs an Android-based operating system with access to online services and app functionality.

Practicality remains the headline story.

Despite its compact footprint, the Epiq offers a 475-litre boot, which Skoda claims is among the largest in its segment. There is also a 25-litre front storage compartment, although the company notes the frunk will arrive later in production.

The usual Simply Clever touches are present throughout the cabin, though Skoda has not detailed every feature yet.

New MEB+ Platform Brings Better Efficiency

Underneath, the Epiq becomes the first Skoda to use the Volkswagen Group’s new-generation MEB+ platform.

The architecture supports front-wheel drive, lighter battery packs, and improved energy efficiency. Buyers will be able to choose from two battery sizes and three power outputs depending on market and trim level.

Skoda estimates a driving range of around 440 kilometres, while DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes roughly 24 minutes. Standard AC charging is rated at 11 kW.

One interesting addition is bidirectional charging capability, allowing the Epiq to supply energy externally or potentially feed electricity back into the grid depending on infrastructure support.

The Epiq also introduces full one-pedal driving for a Skoda EV, adding another layer of convenience for urban use.
