A Familiar Silhouette With Purposeful Changes
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX does not attempt to visually reinvent itself, and that restraint feels deliberate. The stance remains wide and grounded, six inches broader than a standard Ram 1500, with exaggerated fender flares framing 35-inch tires. The hood scoop and venting are not decorative. They are functional, feeding air to the supercharged V-8 beneath. From the press images, the surfaces appear tighter and more resolved, especially around the front fascia where the Flame Red R-A-M grille badge and tow hooks reassert the truck’s identity as something engineered rather than styled.
Lighting details add subtle theater. Animated LED sequences and darkened lamp housings reinforce the TRX’s visual weight without tipping into excess. It still reads instantly as a TRX, which is precisely the point.
Supercharged V-8 Reclaims the Top Spot
At the center of the story is the confirmed return of the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8. Output is rated at 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, making the 2027 TRX the most powerful production gas half-ton pickup on sale
Power is routed through a high-capacity eight-speed automatic and a full-time active four-wheel-drive system.
Performance figures underline the intent. Ram claims 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph. These are numbers aimed squarely at reclaiming bragging rights in a segment increasingly split between electrification and downsized turbocharging.
Suspension Tuned for Speed and Control
TRX’s hardware evolves beneath the bodywork. Second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers headline the changes, paired with Ram Active Terrain Dynamics software that continuously adjusts damping and stability behavior. Suspension travel peaks at roughly 14 inches, with tuning focused as much on high-speed composure as slow-speed articulation.
The independent front suspension and five-link coil rear setup remain key differentiators, giving TRX a level of ride control uncommon in full-size pickups designed for off-road abuse.
Interior Focused on Performance and Comfort
Inside, the TRX continues Ram’s push toward luxury without losing its functional edge. A 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cluster dominate the cabin, joined by a large head-up display. Materials skew premium, with leather, suede, and carbon fiber used extensively. Heated, ventilated, and massaging seats are standard, reinforcing the TRX’s dual role as both high-performance machine and daily-usable flagship.
Positioning in a Changing Market
Priced from $99,995 before destination and arriving in the second half of 2026, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is unapologetically niche. While rivals pivot toward hybrid or electric performance, Ram is doubling down on combustion drama. It positions TRX as a statement vehicle, one designed to sit at the extreme edge of the half-ton segment rather than follow broader industry trends.
