Porsche Brings Manthey Expertise To The Taycan
The Porsche Taycan has already established itself as one of the quickest electric performance cars on sale. For 2027, Porsche is pushing that reputation even further with the introduction of the Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit.
While Manthey-developed upgrades have become familiar territory for Porsche's GT models, this marks the first time the company has created a dedicated Manthey package for an electric sports car. More notably, buyers can now order it directly from the factory rather than adding it later as an aftermarket retrofit.
Built With The Track In Mind
From the outside, the Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit immediately signals its purpose.
Official images show a much more aggressive aerodynamic package than the standard Taycan Turbo GT. A large rear wing, prominent front aero elements, and motorsport-inspired detailing give the car a noticeably more focused appearance. The visual changes are not simply cosmetic.
According to Porsche, the Manthey Kit includes extensive aerodynamic, chassis, and powertrain modifications designed to increase performance on demanding circuits. The package was developed with track driving as a priority, continuing the philosophy seen on Manthey-enhanced 911 GT models.
That development work has already produced measurable results.
Record Lap Highlights Performance Potential
Porsche points to a recent Nürburgring Nordschleife record as evidence of the package's capabilities.
Factory driver Lars Kern completed a lap of the famous German circuit in 6:55.533 minutes, establishing a new benchmark in the electric executive car category. For a vehicle that still retains the four-door practicality of a Taycan, the result underlines just how serious the Turbo GT has become.
The achievement also reflects Porsche's continuing effort to demonstrate that electric performance can deliver consistent results under demanding track conditions.
Technology Evolves Alongside Performance
The 2027 model year update is not limited to lap times.
The Taycan range receives Porsche's new E-Shift system, which introduces eight virtual gears, simulated shift sensations, revised Electric Sport Sound, and a virtual rev counter. Drivers can operate the system using steering-wheel paddles, creating a driving experience intended to feel more interactive and engaging. The Taycan Turbo GT receives E-Shift as standard equipment.
Porsche has also introduced a new generation of infotainment. The updated Porsche Digital Interaction interface brings configurable widgets, AI-supported voice control, expanded smartphone integration, and a more powerful operating system. Over-the-air updates are now supported as well.
A New Flagship For Electric Track Performance
The Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit occupies a unique position within Porsche's electric lineup.
It combines the everyday usability of the Taycan with hardware developed specifically for circuit driving. By making the package available directly from the factory, Porsche is simplifying access to one of the most track-focused electric vehicles it has ever offered.
